'I became a DJ because I couldn't Breakdance. And I was no good at Graffiti'. The underground's loss was music's gain.
Oxford’s favourite electronic musical son, James Lavelle, has done it all. He set up the hugely significant Mo' Wax Records in 1993, breaking artists like DJ Shadow. His UNKLE project has included collaborations with Ian Brown, Richard Ashcroft and Thom Yorke.
Resident at Fabric, and regular guest at some of the leading nights all around the globe, this is the 1st time James has appeared in Oxford this millennium. Yet another Slide first!
See you down the front!!!

Mush in the same way as most breaks DJs; eg. Plumps, Meat Katie, Evil 9; he'll be mixing up some breaks with some acid house and electro. Should be a belter!

Deya is a old slang word used in the eightys, Just think Shabba Ranks (if you dont know who that is then there is no hope for you sunny jim) DEYA means the same as 'standard' I think.

Hhhm, not really.
Standard is quite simply standard - as in 'why of course old bean'
Deya is just to do with being somewhere.
Anyway I dunno if I'll make this this coz i'm playing in Banbury the night before (as are you Rogue don't forget you sleag)...would like to though.

First time post... Am really tempted by Slide, love UNKLE and Lavelle has rocked whenever I've seen him. Thing is, in Oxford, I'm a complete Billy-no-mates and dunno whether I can be mithered going on me tod... Good luck and have a good one though, great to see OXF becoming one of the top cities in the country for Breaks and some top talent playing here.

Hey,
I was all up for coming, but popped into town Friday evening saw my bank balance and had to make a choice... Sounds like a proper lame excuse, I know, but tis the truth. Was looking forward to coming down aswell, since finishing Uni and with my mates elsewhere, I don't get to see decent sets as much as I once did.
Side point, what is the deal with FTB? Is it purely for the Oxford scene, or does it just have a large OXF contingent? Only found the site when searching for Lavelle@Slide???
Cheers, and sorry for not making it down

The majority of the people on here are mostly dnb oxford heads, there's a fair few who are from out of town but still post, they are very nice too.
Just less hectic that some of the other forums. Very drum and bass based but its nice to have some people that know about their house/breaks aswel if thats what you are into!
