Make the effort to visit wolvercote. It's lovely, and 'The Trout' has a proper beer garden, it's beautiful.

I agree with Gem, The Trout is lush in the summer and worth the extra distance!

the trout's gone downhill a bit in recent times if ya ask me. it used to be a quality place to go and grab some quality nosh. now it's just overcrowded & you don't get served for an hour and a half !

turf is ok... a bit hot and stuffy tho and right up it's own arse at times!

The Royal Oak is good for a pipe and slippers type drink- just opposite the old radcliffe as is the Bear. The Chequers is quality cos it's central.

But the Hobgoblin on cowley road is my favourite - once those dratted students go home for summer anyhow ;) :D

I went to one in Marston near the river. It took a bit of finding...

Anyone know what it's called? Queen Vic or something?

Beergardens: Perch & Fishes - you can toke in them too and sunbathe. Now thats my idea of chillin!

(not cramming myself into some concrete yard with a bunch of rich poncy students!)

Trout is okay but way overpriced on the food.
