I have recently started to Dream a bit more than i used to, I think its cos i am having loads more sleep and smoking less weed.

I cant remember them all that well but i remember how wierd they are.. I think I broke the decks at Ali's house when he wasnt there while there was a party.... :badteeth:

thats pretty tame, i have dreams where people get killed all the time too

Is anyone else as wierd as me? I never know if having lucid dreams is a common thing or not!

I had a dream last night that the road that goes down the hill from my house had turned into a fast flowing stream and i decided to save time in the morning by walking halfway down and having a wash with soap and a flannel.

I was watched by the farmer and his family who live halfway down the hill and it seemed totally natural to all of us. After i had dried off the farmer came over and we started talking about my new job.

Then i woke up

Most interpretations go deeper than what has actualyl happened in the dream - it doesn't necessarily mean you are a dyke...it could mean the opposite! I've had a lesbian dream before and I know I'm not gay!

Baby dreams show you are wiser than your surroundings in reality or 'feel' such way - not sure about 'your' baby dream tho - motherhood - need to look it up =- don't wanna get it wrong.

Not really a reoccurring dream but I do have one sometimes where I’m trying to protect someone (always someone close to me) from something but whatever I physically do to keep this something at bay (normally violence) it keeps coming back again and again and again...

Like han, i'm well interested in dreams, I used to have a dream diary and do loads of interpretation, mainly thru darker times in my life. I got really good at recalling detail!

After my hellish day on friday, i dreamt that about four or five of my teeth fell out, and in my dream i actually thought to myself "HA this is usually dream when your teeth fall out, i bet its not real" but on checking i spat some more teeth out! then i woke up. Makes me laugh that i test the reality of my dream, whilst still asleep! Teeth can usually mean quite a few things - but in this case i think it was about power. Teeth grind and bite and so are a symbol of power, but on friday i was powerless to tell my boss to fuck off and it stressed me out, so i think thats what ccaused the dream. Also because in My Name is Earl, earl's ex got into a fight with another ex and her teeth fell out, and because i need a wisdom tooth taking out and havent booked the dentists appointment!

I don't wanna interpret anything until I have my special book. I don't wanna get it wrong coz I am starting to get really into it and would like to get it right. all dreams are personal to you, so never take any interpretation guide as literal.

eg if say when you were a kid you were chased by a bull which scared the crap out of you, dreaming about a bull would have a different meaning to if when you were a kid, there was an old bull that livedi n the field out the back of your house or something. one would represent being chased and therefore negative, and the other might be linked to where you grew up (which i guess could be both negative and positive). But if you looked a bull up on the internet it might come up with something else....!

with that in mind, this is taken from dreammoods.com

Frozen

To dream that something is frozen, represents something that has been suppressed, rejected, or denied.

Paralyzed

To dream that you are paralyzed, may reflect the current state of your body while you are dreaming. During the REM state of sleep you really are immobile and paralyzed. However symbolically, dreaming that you are paralyzed may mean you are feeling helpless or pinned down in some aspect or circumstances of your waking life. You may feel unable to deal with a situation or that you can't do or change anything. Alternatively, you may feel emotionally paralyzed. You may have difficulties in expressing yourself.

be interesting to see what han's book comes up with :)

I don't dream very often, but i did last night, and they're usually the same thing, i'm running away from people, like in some big field or something, just trying to run as far away as possible because i'm being chased and i'm scared. There's usually some random little story that accompanies it... what does this mean? (other than me being a weirdo of course)

do you remember if there was music playing in your dream before you broke the decks? this is quite important...especially if you can remember what was playing - it is REALLY rare to have much auditory perception in dreams - if you did - it would have to be really symbolic - and could lead to the smashing of the decks perhaps? This wouldn't necessarily be related to Ali coz you could've jus seen him lately and therefore...recent occurances/seen peeps spring up to appear in dreams when they aren't even relevant to the dream's journey.

So...was there music?

The only info I can find on this is based at where you all are...this could be well irrelevant tho coz your description is vague - every little detail could be a major factor in interpretation. Airport...waiting at a station or airport or similar COULD imply feelings of expectation which can result in disappointment or elated surprise, depending on the content of the dream...??? too vague?

han d
17th May 2006, 10:53 PM
I never know if having lucid dreams is a common thing or not!

Lucid Dreams...we are aware or become aware that we are dreaming, without this causing us to wake up. Many peeps have, at one time or another experienced this. Some people actually learn how to do this with exercises - I don't think this is too natural but let me know if you wanna learn how to do it.

When it happens naturally, it can give you a proper insight into your subconscious...lucid dreams are more likely to happen when you have reocurring dreams...for obvious reasons.

This one is interesting - lots of it mean things...or apparently do...

begin with the road turning into a stream.

Road = well if it was flat it would symbolise you are free and able to follow a clear path towards a desired goal but it isn't is it.....it's a hill. This changes everything and symbolises or suggests there are obstacles/problems which perhaps need to be tackled. If you watched the river flowing down the hill - this could suggest wasted time ????

This could be bollox but coz you havin a wash in the midst of this - well - the need to get rid of these obstacles? Facin' them head on? Soap and flannel?? unaware - perhaps you saw these before you went to bed and just appreared to symbolise you washing.

In my opinion - as it all seemed normal for the farmer and wife to be there in the middle of it (literally half way down hill) - these could be authoritive figures - repreenting superior insight and higher states of consciousness - did the male farmer seem to take on aspects of yourself (not concentrating on the fact that he is a farmer!). As this was connected to your work...could all be about this-obstacles etc...or even where you wanna be workin but findin it tuff to get there??? You gotta jus use this info and connect it to your life - well tough to do this fore peeps who you know pretty much fuck all about - especially the deepa shit.

I had a dream that some girl was giving me oral sex using a mini cheddar........how weird am I lol !

OK (!) - I am goin by the book here coz I don't know myself...

A sexual dream can represent a few things - ahh - confirmed - it doesn't matter who with or what sex - the feeling derives from your loved one (or so it says!) - apparently it symbolises "the dreamer's longing to be with a loved one" if it's explicit- it can also be an increase of s-drive or release of sexual tensions.

The fact that it was with a girli doens't mean necessarily have these tendancies at all but up for trying new stuff - fuck - I am jus readin from the book so everyone note here - THIS DOES NOT MEAN HOW IT REALLY IS - IT IS DEPENDABLE ON THE PERSON and how it could all relate and fit in with their life.

this one's too weird - don't think the book will cover it.........no it doesn't

The dog I reckon is a definite dream symbol - it prob means something - do you have dogs, seen one recently, anything to do with dogs? if not...think about previous dog-related stuff and now the present could be reletive to this?? You gotta somehow look at the animal testing as a source of metaphor which fits into your life - I can't do this one.

If I look at this book's interpretation of a hotel it reads : Impermanence, instability or feelings of loss or identity.

A lot of other factors come into it tho...your past etc...could mean something to you - ?

I reckon it's weird when you think your mind has created an entire location for your dream. But dream locations (as with dreams themselves) have proved to often contain deep symbolism. It wouldn't necessarily be entirely made up from scratch but as one or a collection of images somewhere from your past. This would probably be brought out to symbolise shit which is relevant to your life now. Unfamiliar surroundings can also symbolise the need to travel or to explore.

As for the dark shit...coz I dunno how dark u talkin or what it's about - I'll take it as 'nightmare''?

nightmares can mean so much different shit - you could feel well angry aout something...not be able or have the chance to sort it out during your conscious and it may jus come out in your unconscious.

To protect CAN reflect desire to help others and/or to be needed COULD be feelin undervalued by someone in awake time - this COULD be the person who you are trying to protect in the dream. The measurea you are taking apparently could represent 'wish-fulfillments'. why are you getting violent? Is there something triggering it in the dream?

VIOLENCE IN DREAMS - if carried out by the dreamer (even if not violent in waking life) is an expression of the urges that the ego forces us to control in everyday life.

Iv been dreaming LOADS more recently - the only explanation i can come up with is cutting down the amount of weed i smoke, although i had always assumed that smoking cannabis regularly would make u more likely to have frequent/vivid dreams!?

recently theyve changed to dreams about pretty mundane stuff and involve people i know etc, but a while ago they were much more surreal, and i had a couple of really frequent recurring ones - One involved my teeth being crushed by grinding them together or otherwise generally falling out, the other was a really weird one where id dream that i was awake face down in my bed, concious but completely unable to move! Im not sure if it was actually a dream or whether i was sort of 'between' being awake and asleep, if thats even possible?! It got so fequent at one point that it actually started to quite piss me off, not had that one for a while though.
