Following the suggestions of Miss D about the set times for the headliners, I am open to suggestions as to what will be considered a good time for him to play......
I suggest
10.30-12 - ?
12-2 Dom & Roland
2-3 - ?
BTW - this is the last one for the term!

Had a really good night and a decent stomp - So glad i made it out, wanted to catch smokey too but lost track of time and suddenly realised it was 11.35pm and wasnt even ready so was a bit annoyed about that.
Wasnt many ppl when i got there at all but soon filled up. dom played some killer tunes and everyone seemed to be loving it. Students make me laugh btw :D
Quickest two hour set ever and possibly the best liquid night iv'e ever been to haha.
Dom definitely lived up to expectations :)

I had a really good night, enjoyed playing my set which I think went well, there could have done with being a few more people in there before 11.30 but it soon filled out after, the system was sweet & easy to mix on. It was good to see a few FTB peeps there, shouts to Madz,Vyper,Misdemeanor & Emersion, What I caught of Dom's sets was heavy he played a fucking sick tune by Gridlok which I cant wait to hear again.

Thanks to everyone who came down and supported the night over the term.
Millions of thanks to the Djs who have supported us in warming up. If any of you all want to do something over the hols, let us know...there will be NO CHARGE to use the venue..... Just our way to say thanks!
Suggestions for the new term welcomed!
I am glad that everyone who has come down appreciated seeing the big names in our small venue. We have not had any fights, or any trouble or attitude at this night and I thank everyone for being such a great crowd.
We know that it can be a busier night, but we think that as long as we continue what we do, we hope that more people will venture down to hear their fav DJs.
Have a great summer to everyone.

yea keep booking the harder djs too because clearly judging by last night ppl loving it other than me :D more dnb heads there than at klute i'd say too.
agree with madz one of the best sets i've heard out in oxford all year.
way more than 20 ppl there and even if there was 20 ppl, that actually probably fills the dancefloor nicely lol.
also forgot to say, good to see a glass of coke reduced to 1.50. 2.50 i paid when Klute was on was definitely extortionate!
look forward to next term!

Thanks Miss D
I think the harder Djs are working better also. Had a word with some other lads and gals and they all suggest the harder Djs. Again...open to suggestions!

By the way.....you should not have been charged £2.50 for a coke!
Sorry for that. I will have a chat to the barstaff...that was a DEF error and next time you are in ...i will DEF give you a beer on the house! ( just ask the manager to call me).....
Apologies again.

Really? I heard there were about 30 people there
Guess it depends on what people class as 'busy'
Emersion
10th June 2006, 08:12 PM
makes me laugh how you guys get so funny about other nights promoted by people not in your 'scene'
I had a wicked time, so did everyone else, i enjoy going to your nights too but theres nothing wrong with checking different things
There was at least 60 at one point, filled the dancefloor nicely. Perhaps you should come next time and check for yourelf, you might enjoy it :badteeth:

Nah I didn't mean it like that at all, just wondering how busy it was thats all, i'll ask how any DnB night in Oxford did for numbers that I couldn't attend, just a natuaral instinct as a promoter I guess
I've been down to loads of Drum Babys thanks, just not many recently due to them either being the night before HQ or having to work
Emersion

Yes please book these two!
Would be nice to start getting an MC down. You should get a mic rigged up with proper monitors. MC's do actually entice people to nights. If you were heading towards the darker sounds of dnb i would suggest getting down MC's like SP, 2Shy, Rage etc...
drumbabydrum
11th June 2006, 05:58 PM
will look into the MC's.
Mantmast used to MC on a regular basis some time ago.
Will look into the mic situation etc....
Thanks for the suggestions.

yea some really good suggestions -everyone smokey & hussla have said and agree with Niki about MC's.
Will have a think who else, trace, ink, calyx, teebee, need a mention thou !
no worries about drinks prices, seems to have sorted itself anyway =)
Caution
12th June 2006, 10:52 AM
Unless the system is tweeked a little I dont think there is really much point in getting an MC down at Drumbabydrum
Fair play to Mant but when he chatted there the whole system level dropped and then rose again due to the limiter which kinda made everything sound a little disjointed.
Sandman, Algar & PM would be good local (ish) choices for next term if that factor can be sorted out (which I presume it can relatively easily) and Mant isn't available, all about the MC's that can let the music breathe for this one...
