Sorry mate. No offense...
If only promoters valued their up and coming artists as much as these overpaid dubplate junkies.... They don't even notice that we share resident locals...
We should start charging. But that would definately limit our future work!
I'm playing for free for Epidemik next month. That's all good! I'm looking forward to it... But if I turned round and said "That'll be £xxx please." I don't think it would go down somehow! DJ's are no longer novelty. They are fucking COMMON!

Big up Hussla - working hard to stay ahead in the game - noticed and respected....

Trying to stay ahead but at the same time standing back to just check on reality while everything goes on and then consider my next move on all this B)

I couldn't ask any promoter for money really ! If they offered some then of course I'd love it but there are so many DJ's ! !

I know what you mean, i've been doing this now for 9 years...though most gigs have came about the last 2 years....but...I should be asking for dollars...but these days unless your well established you'll getted laughed at, & wont ever play!!!...It's a shit thing, I don't mind as much, as i'm getting my name known more, unfortunately this takes time....& records aint cheap...:( Not that will stop me! :)

the bottom line is that iflocal folk start asking for money then the promoters will just book one of the other 200 people asking for sets.... unless of cource you bring something different to the table..
like:

you are a local mini name and would quantify payment as you would bing a crowd down
you work your arse off plugging the night for the promoter
you are amazingly skilled as a turntablist and will smash up the dance

i always try and pay people something, although HQ is a not for profits event... which is why it's so fucking cheap... any money we DO make will be put in the pot.. so far we have £100

yey!

My home set up is lame and I keep gettin distracted by FTB and Reason 2...

Plus some of the discs wont read on my MDR cos they are LP2 or something.

Link up when you're in Oxford innit. Or come to the Junction on Monday. Hopefully be there then...

We've only met once innit.

Respect.
