R.I.P. :(

One of the only genuinely entertaining wildlife documentors, I didn't know he'd done so much for Australian nature conservation as well. What a ripper.

I'm actually really upset about this, apparently he is only the 2nd known person ever to be killed by a stingray in Australia and the last one was in 1945

A few friends of mine have been to his park and said his charisma and enthusiasm about the animals was a joy to behold. It was just obvious that he had no ego or front and just truly loved what he did on a day to day basis. He was also one of the few current TV personalities that was always interesting to watch imo.

RIP Steve Irwin, true dappa

RIP...This is well sad, he was well young still too.

But yeah, at least he died doing something he loved. Still pretty ironic, all those crocs etc hes wrestled with and he died from a stingray!? weird..

OMG - he was an absolute legend!!! I didn't know about this untill now - Stingray? WWWWWWHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAATTTTTT????????? What? What? What? He got killed by a Stingray? Has this definitely happened? We are talking about the funny guy who managed to do loads of interesting things like fight crocodiles and be at ease with the dangers of snakes? He was WELL funny - A stingray? How did this happen? How random - I thought those buggers never attacked unless seriously provoked - oh no - this is a shame and a very random thing to hear at the end of a hard day's work - I'm always the last to hear news/

Its a compliment to the mans nature how so many people are showing their respect. Something i've definitely learnt over the past year is life is too short, do whatever you want to do, I am sure Steve Irwin had no regrets
