Hello everyone,

I'm after suggestions about how we could raise extra capital to keep FTB going. Currently it costs quite a bit to keep running, hosting costs, bandwidth costs and such, and I'm not going to be able to keep shelling out the amount that I am at the moment on a monthly basis to keep it going much longer.

So do any of you have any suggestions about how we can raise some steady revenue to keep FTB going? I'd hate to see it stop after what we've achieved so far!

Cheers people,

Chris.

For a start, feelthebass, needs to be promoted alot more, not just in Oxford...world wide! Then get some sponsers, that might help, web rings like what Mikee said. Maybe start broadcasting a select number of broadcasts again & charge summat for the time etc..

from the non-dnb forum

could the various promoters on the forum put some of the revenue from their nights back into the site?

in return for the continued attendance of FTB regulars!?

:D

Do that many ppl listen to the media sections (sets, etc.)?

Personally I'm only here for the forum, surely and that doesn't cost much to host (I'm sure the ads pay for that).

Respect to Ceedee for keeping things running to date regardless of what happens.

Nobody listens to the media/archives/live shows. They were a good idea and raised a bit of money for FTB but to be honest all the hassle that it involved, it wasn't worth it.

And the adverts aren't paying FTB, it's just a link through to DnB arena's ad campaign (a) to make the site look a bit more interesting and (B) to easily put dnb notices that might interest FTB's viewers on the website.

Thanks for the suggestions people and please keep them coming. Ideally I'd like to steer away from the idea of having another night, because at the moment FTB doesn't have the name to pull a big enough crowd from all around to make a night worthwhile.

Maybe promoters could put recordings of their nights up on ftb for a small contribution towards the hosting cost? That way there'd be a central place where people who did want to listen to event recordings could do so from, and it would cover the costs that need covering. Promoters, what are your thoughts? Would you pay FTB say £2 per CD of your event if we hosted it all together for you, for the junglists out there to enjoy?

We would be up for putting highlights of meltdown on there for people to hear, & contibute a small fee, could also look @ hosting a FTB fund raiser @ our venue, will have to talk to the rest of the crew though.

What Smokey is saying is a good idea, and if Rebal faction are up for doing an event in Conjunction with Feelthebass, that'll be worth while! Definately need to raise the profile of feelthebass, the same peeps go on ftb, that'll be why nobody listen's to the archives etc..coz they'd have heard everything already so wont listemn again... But a new comer to FTB might, specially if there was more updated archibves etc..Definately summmat to consider!

Well, I'm not going to be able to be very financially supportive only because I'm in deep financial shit myself but wherever I perform I always plug FTB in my lyrics...

WWW.FEELTHEBASS.CO.UK - HIT THAT SHIT EVERYDAY!

yes yes, it all helps with spreading the word!!

the best thing is that every MC shouts feelthebass at some point during their spiel anyway - if only we could figure out a way to hijack the lyrics and stick www. and .co.uk around it!

Imagine it being heard by 1000 people in fabric on a friday night.....

Now THAT'S promotion!
