Hi all,
For all those of you out there who use software like Morpheous and Kazaa regularly to share things on your computer, check out something called Direct Connect. It works in a similar way to Kazaa but there's far better stuff available, and it's faster as everyone is split up into hubs for different types of stuff. So if you were looking for some music or something, you'd go onto a hub that contained users with that sort of file and do a search from there. Much faster, and much better. I've had Direct Connect for about a month now and downloaded 20Gb of stuff in that time, so yes, it gets addictive!
Anyway, you can get it from here: http://dcplusplus.sf.net
Great for getting samples/loops/software off if you're that way inclined.
Cheers,
Chris.

oh yeah and by the way if you do have this software and want to check out what I've got, my nickname is "[BTopenworld]ceedee" and I'm normally on the following hubs 24hrs a day:
backyard4.udgnet.com ([BBB][BackYard #4])
dc.lysekil.net ([LYSEKIL SWEDEN [BBB]])
dchub.essentialsets.net ([EsSeNtIaLs::Pub])
See you there maybe!

my mate at work told me about this a few weeks ago, apparently it has shitloads more stuff than kazaa/soulseek, he mentioned the word "Petabyte" but i can't remember exactly how big a petabyte is... :blink:
seems worth checking out :)

yes mate do check it out! A petabyte is 1024 terabytes, and a terabyte is 1024 gigabytes - so yeah a lot of stuff on there!
I've got 25GB of stuff in my share and that's about average, so you imagine 100,000 people sharing out 25GB of stuff.... that's a lot of stuff!!
:)

That's what makes it good and quick - there's no pissing about with people that are sharing one album and stuff, and not really contributing - which is why there's far more stuff on it than kazaa :)
