The wisest decision I can say is to simply say no.

There's always another way and even if not, save up for what you want and you will eventually come to appreciate money and your belongings more.

and I'm not saying that you should do it either but following on from Raw's post, credit cards are the most expensive way of borrowing money. If you can't be sure you'll be able to pay your entire balance off within a month, then get a loan, it's cheaper (far less interest) and CUT THE CARD UP.

I still believe though that you should not get anything on credit - earn the money first then spend it. And I'm only saying that because I did get lots of credit then it all went wrong.

So what do you do if someone nicks it, finds a place that doesn't require online authorisation for every transaction, and starts using it? The bank - who you've told the card has been destroyed - will then see it being used, think it was you using it, and you'll go to court for theft. And even if it wasn't you using it the bank will still find out that you've been lying to them and more than likely go ahead and bankrupt you.

CUT THE CARD INTO TINY PIECES AND THROW EACH PIECE INTO AS MANY DIFFERENT BINS YOU CAN FIND.

surely the card is dud now? if she reported it to the bank as destroyed, they would have cancelled it.

obviously, she'll still have to pay off the balance, but if someone found the card they wouldn't be able to use it either.

nah it doesn't work like that unfortunately :(

Card schemes like Solo and Electron have rules that say they cannot be used to buy things unless accompanied by an authorisation code. This is why you can't use them in some petrol stations, because not all petrol stations have authorisation terminals. However full Visa cards, Delta, Mastercard, and Switch, do not have these rules because it would make life difficult if you wanted to buy something when the authorisation systems were down or not present. Hence why you need a fairly good record to have a Switch or full Visa card - because they know that even when your balance can't be checked at the time of purchase, you're not likely to try and spend money that you don't have.

Now because the bank has been told that the card has been destroyed, they'll look favourably on that because they see you're trying to cooperate with their requests, and negotiate reasonable repayment plans. However, if the card hadn't been destroyed and then got nicked, if the thief then found a place to use the card where authorisation wasn't required for purchases (eg. if you use a card at a certain supermarket for under £20, there's only a 1 in 5 chance it will be authorised), and then used it, the transaction would go through and the bank would then see it a couple of days later. Then they'd know that they had been lied to and the card hadn't been destroyed, and they'd come down like a ton of bricks. They wouldn't want to talk about repayment proposals favourably at all, because they wouldn't know what to believe, as they'd been lied to before.

There is a reason why I know this.....

On a serious point about promo's. I'm always on the net anyway so when they come out it's just like getting general releases anyway because they're redilly available so can you blame me for buying them ??

Buying vinyl can be so addictive though everyone must admit that !

I kind of rest my case on trying to get pre release in Oxford now ! The main big one's anyway eg Screamer & Vault etc

When Juicy said how there were literally 5 copies of Nosher that came about yesterday I wasn't surprised ! 1 will go to who works there (expected) and then maybe a couple put aside for people and then what chance have you got ! !

My little niggle to the day ! !

On the subject of Eksman ! He's wicked. It's like he just doesn't care about all the politics behind, should you chat fast over certain bits, bidabida etc etc, just comes naturally and flows real well over most tunes plus blatantly loves the party vibe ! !
