You may have seen my thread over on DOA or heard about my award nomination on Flight's 1Xtra show last week, but here are full details.
I’ve been nominated for the Music Award as part of DaDaFest 2006. DaDaFest is the largest celebration of Disability and Deaf art in the North West bringing together internationally acclaimed top class professional artists, local home grown talent, and up and coming young disabled people and is run by NWDAF - North West Disability Arts Forum.
Vote by going to vote by going to the DaDaFest website (http://nwdaf.com/DaDaAwards%202006 )
If you’ve met me you’ll probably know that I suffer from a walking difficulty. I suffer from a range of muscular problem in my legs as well as severe arthritis in my knees and one hip.
If you’ve seen me out you’ll know I haven’t let this stop me and hope you’ll know me as a regular out and about in the world of Drum & Bass clubs. I’ve DJed at events like Raindance, Best of British, Stealth, the Reading and Leeds festivals and Torque in Florida as well as on Rude FM. Hopefully you’ve checked out my mixes (if not see my signature ).
I’ve done my fair share for Disability Arts by DJing, offering technical support and working at events for the Attitude is Everything project helping improve disabled access at music venues and festivals. I’ve worked with a blind DJ supporting her during her sets and am resident at the eclectic Attitude on the Decks events at the Big Chill Bar in London.
This award would mean a lot to me and hopefully I can get all of your backing to help me win.
Whilst you’re on the site be sure to check out the other categories and please vote for Attitude is Everything (http://www.artsline.org.uk/attitude/) in the Community Event or Group section
