I don't see the fascination

I don't feel anything for this type of drum and bass

For exapmle 'Uno' by Lynx getting dropped at HQ a month ago. It did nothing for me. I just find it really boring and i wouldn't even of attempted to dance to it.

If you like this sort of stuff please explain why.....

"Uno" reminds me of the old Krust, Suv and Die stuff on V and Full Cycle.

Great to see that sound return imo.

uno is a biiiiiig tune, fair enough it may not be the greatest track to listen to through your sterio speakers, but when u hear the bass in a club its wkd.

Agreed, you can just get lost in it.

I find it realy emcaptivates me. Tho there is little going on i find large parts (especially the bass) really powerful. I am a reknowned 'chiller' and i like easy listening and feeling content just bopping my head. Dont get me wrong i do like other types of drum and bass, but this certainly has a large part in my musical heart!

Don't mind it, sometimes this stuff sounds heavy on a decent system..then when you listen at home, it makes you think why did a like that tune @ such & such night! Although too much in one set can bring the night down a bit I think.

We listened to 4 hours of it solid at Intrigue, didn't bring the night down at all... Best night of music I've been to in ages

any, on the point of minimalistic dnb

there of course is a time & place for it but I don't think it's a club, especially for a whole night, maybe warm up

certainly good for chilling, MP3 player business etc though

When I go out though I wanna hear tunes with energy

Don't agree at all mate, so your saying nobody at Intrigue enjoyed themselves, or that they shouldn't of been able to listen to that music in that club? Why?

I personally do listen to jump up too so don't say i'm stuck fighting my corner because i'm not. But a lot of people think that jump up is a lot of childish bollocks, so if they turned around and said clubs shouldn't be allowed to play shit jump up because it fills the place with chavs, is that cool?

Minimal dnb should played whenever, not just as a warm up. I dont like jump up and i would outlaw it from ever being played in clubs :badteeth: but i can appreciate that sometimes it'll be on peak time set cos people like it.

Similarly you cant have a "shit opinion"

oh right, just quite a funny comment that's all, in fact it's hillarious

What is hillarious is the fact that your ignorant enough to think that anything deep, rolling, minimal or chilled can only be played as a "warm up". i'm all for tastes in music being subjective but that really is way off the mark. then again, i don't class most of the jump up clown shit as drum & bass at all. it's more akin to happy hardcore with regards to the sounds being used and the lack of any soul.

MIKEE HUSSLA
1st May 2007, 12:33 PM
you've just completed widened the area of music in debate to make your feedback warranted which is quite inappropriate

I play deep rolling tunes in my sets at peak times, just not the "minimal" tunes that are actually being discussed

and well done for the input of a jump up dig

eh? illiterate. i think i know what you mean.

in many threads you have classed all sorts of drum & bass (other than jump up) as "only warm up drum&bass" which is pig ignorance at its finest.

edit: the jump up quote isn't a dig. it is clear that jump up is your staple sound, hence the note.
