ok.. in the past there have been flyer wars and poster wars and bully boy tactics and hostility and all that business. now beleive it or not we all actually have one thing in common... a love for drum&bass music right?!?! now i have a proposal which should help everyones nights and also help to really put oxford on the map.

currently there are lots of crews all putting on various d&b events here there and everywhere and fair play to you all, it's wicked..

i'm looking to see if people would like to join forces are form a cartel to help promote all the events TOGETHER!

what i mean is this...

some of you guys live in south oxfordshire right? some in oxford city centre? i live in west oxfordshire... so why don't we all put up everyones posters?

on top of this my old idea of the flyer packs has actually come in to fruition and no doubt you may have recieved text messages from me promoting various events be it source or hq etc..

imagine if i could send texts to my database of oxfordshire junglists for you... and in return you put some hq posters up for me in your areas and i'll wack some kinetic/method/rebel faction/source/hq whatever posters up in witney/eynsham/town etc.. a bit like you scratch my back and i'll scratch yours..

i have crews in banbury/bicester too [this would be a tie in with terra:technique]

this would mean that everyone gets MUCH MORE exposure for not much more effot..
plus you don't get people going over everyones flyers..
i'll pimp your events on my sms / e-mail databases
and we can live happily ever after?

so blanket postering + oxfordshire d&b flyerpack does this sound like another hair-brained scheme or could it be an efficient method to guarantee our future success as a city? who knows - you decide.

well i think that might not be a thing of the past bro... i'm trying to network to ensure things work well for everyone. if we can plan it and gel then overall things will be better

Still, there'll always be new nights and promoters popping up all the time unaware of this network that you propose to set up.

i don't see the problem with a bit of competion oxford has enough Junglists to fill more than one club on a saturday night & there should be a choice, we would be well up for helping other nights that help us out. its all a cse of networking

that is true however it wouldn't be long before we got to meet them... and besides what is wrong with trying to sort something between the established events oxford already has.... i'm trying to resolve any "them & us" issues there may be.. is there much point in people wasting time and effort when we could work together and strengthen ties and ultimately guarantee more attendees for all of our nights?

If you get it to work then a big thumbs up but not everyone seems happy with bigging up all the scene in Oxfrod. I judst don't feel you'd managae to get eceryone in agreement !

Definately a good idea dave! :) Even if peeps nights are on the same night, it shouldn't matter, this will happen!...It doesn't effect nites much anyway, when other D&B nites are on etc...it just means peeps have more choice...which the public wont mind, at least they've got a choice! :)

If as many peeps can work together, whatever their differnces with each others nites or whatever, I think it will work better!

I'm always up for helping out with nights, as long as I know they're in it for the rigt reasons...ie the Music & the Ravers!

those that are currently doing nites, consider what Dave is saying, it's within your intrest!

Big Up's to Dave for trying his best to keep crews all on the same side & concentrating on what really is at stake here...The D&B scene in Oxford!

well it's not about bigging up oxford.. it's more about trying to promote each others events efficiently. i mean what is the point in 5 different people postering cowley road when one person could do that and the another person could hit botley and so forth.. it was just an idea..

i'm just trying to see if people wanted to put some of my posters up in return for me advertsing their events on my text message and e-mail databases and so forth.. bear in mind i do all the e-marketing for the source so i have access to lots of potential punters!

It baffles me that there are people out there that don't want to try this idea because they're worried about people who wouldn't be in on the idea.

Fuck the people who aren't in on the idea! If people do as Dave suggests and stick everyone's posters up near them instead of going on massive runs once a week just to do their own, there would be more posters out there promoting people's nights ALL THE TIME so what have you got to lose?

And personally I think it's a lame ass effort if you're a promoter and don't want to give Dave's thing a try - give it a go, what have you got to lose.

The attitude of some promoters in oxford suck. Grow up and help each other out you big bunch of whinging babies!

i know all about not sending texts untill 09.00 bro!..

it may be a silly idea, but it could be tweaked!!

you know it annoys me when certain promoters go over my hq posters and i was only trying to find a resolution so that we wouldn't get this kind of thing in the future [well within the vibrant [sic] drum&bass community anyway.
