Synthwise we are pondering the Virus TI, Ben is really keen to get one.
Our next major "purchase" is studio space in this building here:

I think motivation wise, it's time to have a designated space which has no external distractions. it will also be awesome to pool our equipment.

they are artists studios for rent, it's at the custard factory in birmingham. they specialise in renting out spaces for creative business and the like.

For me it's a new PC first and foremost, as the one I'm using is past-it bigtime, churning really badly. Not too sure what to go for spec-wise but I don't see the point in planning it until I have the money together due to the rapid change in price of some bits (and new shit coming out all the time).
Monitoring situation is not good. I have been on a mission to try and crack the algorithm for my partners hi-fo's bass boost, as I mixed something down with that button on (without realising it) and I just cant make it sound as banging without. There is more to it than boosting the bass - it actually does something up the top too and I cant recreate that. Annoying. Don't ask why I'm using a fucking hifi I cant be assed to go into it, but it's hellish.
After sorting that it's got to be a decent control surface. I remember one that was discussed on here months back, I thnik Manik posted it up, it was all touch screen and fully customisable. You could have any combo of x-y, slider, knob, option buttons etc.

Arr, this old chestnut. The bass boost button on hi-fi's is not really a bass boost at all. It is a method of adjusting the relative perceived level of all those frequencies which your brain thinks are quieter than the others. That's why it is not just your bass that is out but a whle load of other freqs too.
As for the question, my next purchase is probably going to be Sylenth given the review I just read. Other than that, some new monitors possibly.

@Fayd - well aware of that mate - its replicating that algorithm that's causin me the issue. If only I had an outboard oscilloscope!
