The name is often mispronounced as "tek-nicks". However, according to the manufacturer, the correct pronunciation is like the word techniques.

Did anyone know that? I bet if I was to start pronouncing it correctly piblicly, most people would be like wtf you on about mate!

Thought it might be suprising to you, thats the only reason I've put this up here. Peace.

ive always heard flash & herc etc refer to them as techniques...........and i aint gonna argue with them!

IMO if it was to be pronounced techniqes it should be called techniques. From an English-speaking perspective, there are no accents or anything suchlike to indicate this alleged correction. I won't be adopting it, as I said above.

Precisely, thats a french pronunciation.

Technics is made by panasonic which is matsushita which is japanese, I really don't see the logic.

According to that article it was Matsushita that came up with this funny idea.
