Just a few thoughts here. Was wondering if you guys (promotors/flyer people) ever get feedback from the punters as to where they heard about an event. Do you think this'd be a good idea for future events?
Personally I reckon that apart from flyering after other drum n bass events the best form of promoting is about town picking up people from the pubs n bars but understandably this isn't always easy. Has anyone ever put flyers thru letter boxes? Just that I thought places like Divinity road would be a pukka place to flyer thru the letterboxes as its a pure student road.
Most students know they're goin out on a Friday/Saturday night but havn't got a clue where until early evening. Hit em with a flyer just as they're getting ready and you may bag em!?!
Right I'm off to flyer an old folks home...

funny you should sya that.... we used to do just that untill we got bollocked by the residents association [i used to live on div road!]
more and more i'm using e-marketing strategies such as e-mail and sms campaigns, these are relatively cheap, very efficient and have a high conversion rate, another plus is that i don't get people moaning about going out in the cold to perform these tasks.

Very good point...
Time for a bit of market research innit!
As for through-the-letter-boxes it really reinforces the none-underground way jungle is promoted in Oxford....
I've heard old grannies at bus stops going "Who's this Mampi Smith I keep seeing advertised everywhere? I bet he's one of these awful pop idol winners!"
Bryan Gee?
Ray Keith?
Zinc?
Swift?
Should they be heard of by everybody who doesn't like d 'n' b?
NO!
