Hi all,
I've been thinking long and hard recently about how to make FTB stand out from the rest of the DnB sites, and drew a bit of a blank. I put archives and streams up previously, but there wasn't enough interest in them and it wasn't sustaining the site either financially or otherwise. It seemed that whatever I did, this forum was where it ALL happened.
So I came to the conclusion that people like networking - they like chatting about things - they like reading things - they like advertising things - etc. So I thought - with a bit of help and suggestion from Juicy - why not start publishing a Drum n Bass magazine for the oxford(ish) area?
To start with, the magazine would have a few interviews of different DJs/Producers in the scene, event reviews and event listings and stuff. There'd be a section in it where promoters could send us a copy of any fliers for nights they were doing, and details of the night would be published in the mag. There'd be top tens and stuff compiled from the city's record shops, upcoming releases news, etc etc. And competitions etc. It might even have a cover CD.
Basically the magazine would be published to a subscriber base - you'd subscribe to the mag for a period of time - and then every month you'd get a brand new issue with new events, event reviews, new charts, new listings, everything, sent straight to your door. The mag would also be on sale (hopefully!) in Avid/Massive/Cult Clothing/HMV etc, so you could pick it up there if you wanted to as well.
But so that I can get this all off the ground, I need to gauge your interest. Would you buy a subscription to Oxford's ONLY DnB-specific magazine? At a guess the mag would cost £2-£3 per month.
Please post your interest/thoughts below!
Cheers,
Ceedee.
