Alright Dave,
I have been asked to do a college project (I know I mentioned it AGES ago) on topic of my choice, as long as it's directly related somehow to music. I know you are up for helping out in the form of an interview, but I would like to take this a bit further.
First of all, let me explain what I intend to do; I have been asked to do a presentation based on my own research into an area of choice - I intend to do a video presentation!! I thought initialy about doing a small vid about the oxford drum n bass scene in general, but I now think thats a bit too 'wide' for what I need, so I am now considering focusing my presentaion on HQ - your night.
This would be good for you, as it's gives you and yours (another) 15 minutes of fame and will be seen by a hell of a lot of people, I'll also publish it to the web and you can link to it yourself. The people I am interested in speaking to on video are yourself, Mattrick and probably Lady Blaze aswell.
The approach I'd like to take is basically I'll run interviews with you and the mentioned mates of yours, probably at your homes. I will talk about how you got into dnb yourself and what you've done ,what possesed you to get out there and do a night of your own, how you managed to go from one event to a regular slot at the cellar, how you go about booking your big names, what you need to take into consideration when running your night... that sort of thing yeah.
I also intend to go to the next few HQs and film a little footage of you doing your thing at the events. The whole thing including the interviews and the live footage will be about 15 to 20 mins.
If this goes ahead, I will be working on it over the next six weeks, and will be starting it all up in about 2 weeks time.
If you want in and this sounds like sommat you're up for getting involved in, cheers very much! Give me a shout on here or email philblunt@bass-invaders.co.uk.
Cheers either way anyway man. Peace. Out.
