yup that is tru - but you're assumming that you are actually gonna come back from the desert island one day, whereas if your stuck there forever it doesn't really matter if you kill a tune cos you never gonna hear any more anyway :P
hehe, might take Twist 'em out because somebody might hear the lead/trumpety noise if I play it really loud!  :D

if were going to be picky about not killing the tune as its the only one youll ever listen to, it doesnt really matter anyway as your not exactly going to have anyway to power whatever is playing the tune itself. anyway, are we talking decks (not those crappy cd ones) tape player or what. you may think that that is a load of nonsense but we have to ge these details correct. otherwise you may find yourself spinning the decks manually with the needle running through th scratchs in the cd as you brough the wrong format. you see anyhing could go wrong. We cant go getting ourselfs stranded without planning it before hand. Fools ;)

ohh ohh i just had another thought (yes another one) you need to first hope that someone has written them so you can take it but take your 10 fav tunes and have them mixed like speeddust or the ska & shakeit dubplate. im not saying thats what i would chose but just a few examples. However, i dont think phucking hostile (kemal) would go to well with fallin' (raiden) but if you want to try it out, go for it.

My five tunes would be something on the lines of:
DJ Kool - Let Me Clear My Throat
SugarHill Gang - Rappers Delight (Full length version over 13mins so good value for your one record!)
Freestylers - B Boy Stance
Zinc / Hype - Closer to God (wicked tune)
Mighty Dub Catz - Magic Carpet Ride
More of a random selection so I wouldn't get sick of the tunes I took!

I haven't personally but my mate has and if I went to a desert island I'd have to steal it off him. It's been played so much that the quality isn't as good as it was!
