It sure is 2 step garage
But there is just something about it - soo deep - dark lonely ambience - I thought i would find it difficult to look past the amount of 2 step vocals he uses but Its all about the way Burial produces it. Doesn't use a sequencer. this interview hits the nail on the head I find. ...

But I'm not that into tunes that are so sequenced that all you can hear is the perfect grid, even on the echoes. With those kind of tunes, sometimes I just hear Tetris music, i always know where i am in the tune so i cant get lost in it, no rough edges in some tunes even when they try hard to sound rough.

Couldn't agree more man, this album is so so deep. Though very similar to 'Burial' imo, I think he betters that with this effort. The tune that stands out for me is 'Shell Of Light', having said that the whole album is amazing. All about the ambient stuff on it too.

its so atmospheric, goosebumps every time i listen to it
feeling ghost hardware and etched headplate but it feels like its going to be one of those albums where tunes grow on you all the time.

had ghost hardware on single for a while now definitely one of the strongest on there for me at the moment
also worth checking all of the burial single releases Slightly reworked versions of Wounder, Southern comfort etc .. all wicked. And the Burial remix of Blackdowns - Crackle Blues ;)
