ID Cards - good or bad idea?

The government are contemplating joining other European countries by intoducing ID Cards for every mother fucker in the country...

There are pros and cons of course...

Saw a report on the news last night and thought 'I wonder what the FTB possee think?! hence the thread...

for a start if its to do with immigration - if ppl manage to forge a passport, how easy will it be to get a id card. All it will ensure is that those ppl who do forge the cards are here for good.

Plus im not happy about being charged £40 for the pleasure.

Waste of time and money. Oh and how difficult will it be to prove you WERENT somewhere if someone takes your card and commits a crime? :confused:

I mean, I already have I.D, my driving licence.

It's all very Big Brother [as in the 1984 story] ain't it?!

Credit Cards are already a way in which 'they' follow 'us' around...
I suppose these cards mean tracking social classes who may not have high incomes more than before...

maybe so, but i dont see how it offers extra security.
And i dont see why we should fork out for the pleasure of being tracked and traced around our own country.

why not just give the ID cards to immigrants? Might save them the hassle of forging a passport anywya!

Im def not up for paying for the pleasure and dont really think the immigration reason washes. Like whats it gonna do...france still has massive problems and theyve got bloody id cards

evreywhere else has got em so i dont really see the problem to b honest- i dont really see how id cards would fuck wiv our civil liberties an shit- but one disadvantage wud be that it wud be that less underage drinkers wud b able to get away with it- hence more lickle idiots asking ''can u get us some strongbow please mate?'' outise your local threshers/oddbins- now that really IS vexin!!
