The way I look at the booking thing is that it should be if the promoter likes what you're doing shouldn't they approach you for a set? Or if they have not heard you, give a demo etc. I've seen some people basically pester other promoters into giving sets and in all fairness the promoter should book who he thinks is fit for their night.
