...that is the question!

The tunes i was buying a year ago, arent exactly my style any more, but part of me thinks i should keep (sentimental fuck that i am) as ..well im not too sure why, a reminder of the dnb i first bought on vinyl i guess.

On the other hand Im not likely to play these tunes again...but everyones style must change so my question is have you lot got rid of the old tunes you were buying when you first started mixing, or not?

No way, i'd never get rid of any of them, I go through them every now & then, to look to see if I can sell any of them...never can find any. The way I look at it is, that I bought these records coz I liked them, and I stiill do. Ok I havn't played dome of them for a while, but I do play them. I love going through my records & rediscovering why I bought them. There might be one or 2, I really could sell, coz I really have gone of the tune...but this is rare!

@Hussla I still like that Total Science - Taxman tune, i dugit out a little while ago & started playing it again.

This is another thing,, everytime I go through a pile of tunes I havn't played before, I come across summat that I could fit into my set nowadays!

My opinion, is same as Dave's...DONT DO IT!!! Unless you really do detest a tune..:)

Mnnn...perhaps if you really are cringing at some of them, then yeah get rid of them or swap or summat.

The only problem is how to keep your records, withoiut them overtaking your room...as you can tell from my room....it's starting to take over half my bedroom!

A trip to ikea, is order for some shelves...or alternativly I could try maiking my own cabinet!..

if you really dont like them then you may as well.. i mean if i had a copy of LK or shake your body or body rock... id be up or selling those! lol

markus, make your own cainet mate. custom stuff rules ikea flat packs! plus you can make it to fit your room!

Don't sell ya tunes.

When I was mixing back in 96, I built up a nice collection.
Since then I have been strapped for cash enough times.
The thought of selling them/some had crossed my mind but I never could.

For me, the tunes are a lovely collective of jungle/DnB memoribilia*.

I'd rather go hungary, cold and skint than to sell my records.

I'd sell em if I went deaf.

But this is your choice (call me sherlock). But DON'T sell ya tunes.

Full of regret I see coming your way.

Vinyl, is my life, pretty much, i'd sell my decks if I had to choose between them & my tunes!!

See I've got those three tunes, you said you'd get rid of, & I still like them. Specially LK, but that's me...Body Rock is a love it or hate it tune, I don't hate it, but I don't love it, I just like it. It was played believe it or not on Saturday @ Dekefex, and everyone still loved it...just goes to show!

I'm up for making my own Cabinet...been ages since I put Hammer to nail, & Saw to wood & all that...it'll probebly fall apart if I did it. What i'm up for doing though is designing the cabinet, getting the Materials..then get someone to build it for me...someone that knows what there doing! :D

Please dont think i dont love my tunes! If there was a fire, i'd happily suffer (minor) burns and smoke inhalation to save them! :D

I guess part of the reason ive been thinkin about is the more tunes you get the more to look thru. And its when im not sure what i want to play and im goin past tunes ive not played for 6months and wouldnt play again im thinkign, shouldnt i just ditch them!

Its mainly stuff from last year and maybe very early this year but seems i will regret it and i dont have the time or money to make this mistake myself!!!

cheers.
