I had a chat with Bravo and Gomez last night about playing an Old Skool set back 2 back with Manik [should he wish to accept the challenge!]

I know - I asked them what they class as Old Skool and I think they just mean Jungle post-1995...

I got loads of that but I wanna play like 93-96 really...

Lock to the mix quicker imo. BUT only thing that would take me to Technics would be the new one's with +10 pitch rather than a poor 8 !!

+8 is fine.. i prefer to hear tunes at more or less the speed the producers intended anyway ;-]

I dunno, it's just some tunes i play now say just for the baslines over tunes in sets, they just don't cut under the plus 8 mark. Usually some tunes tunes pre 96 time.

i would imagine so! although during that era i was more into the metalheadz/speed sound more than the helter skelter/one nation sound.. but i do have my fair share of classics :]

now a 1990 - 1993 set would have been much more fun!

:) Once upon a time two DJ's called.... Grooverider and Fabio... used to play House and Funk records together..... AT THE WRONG SPEEEED!!! On 45!... When they were actually recorded on 33.3!

Designed to be played at 33.3RPM not 45RPM!

Not Drum 'n' Bass, but there WAS no Drum 'n' Bass in those days!

A few people actually liked it though!

So these two DJ's continued to play music at the wrong speed!

And then people started copying!

And THEN techno records began cropping up with breaks from old funk and hip hop RUNNING AT THE WRONG FUCKING SPEED!

Insane idea innit! Whatever where they thinking?

Over a decade later and look what a mess of the rave scene that has made! [NOT!!]

2. Paul Ibiza
