I got nothing to record to!!! The only function that works on my fucking CD system now is AUX!!! I've been planning to do mixtapes and send 'em out to promoters and radio ie Altered but havn't had the chance coz of this.

Here comes my plea :D

Is there anyone who knows me who could gimme a chance to do a minidisc mix or a cd burn? Or does anyone know if you can plug a minidisc player to record a mix thru a system like mine (standard Midi system)?

Any help'd be much appreciated...including any suggestions of buying a new system and wots best for a budget student like me!!! Cheers all.

You got the same probs then Mikee?

Fucking annoying isn't it!!! S'pecially when all the tunes you're randomly selecting are blending like they're made for each other and you can't do nothing about it!

get a 3.5 - 2 phono from any hifi shop, if you're up headington, closest one is audio t, if cowley then sevenoaks...
then just put main / aux / booth, whatever out from mixer into rec. in on minidisk.
then you're sorted!

Cheers Graham. So thats just a 3.5 line (from my cd sysyem) that converts into a small minidisc (2) player right?

Will do. Thanx

jibba - the idea I'd had was:
2 phono from mixer's output to the line in of your minidisk, which is 3.5 if it's normal headphone size.
if you need to go through your hifi, you might need to go from it's headphone socket to your minidisk, but that normally mutes the speaker ouput..
basically, unless youre mixer has 2 sets of outs, or you've got tape out on the stereo, you're pretty screwed.

Does anyone know anyone, whom I can get to sort out my CD Recorder seperate, i've lost the warrenty, & it'll be £35+ to get it fixed via Richer Sounds....

Basically after putting in a Recordable CD in, it's saying 'No Disc' then says 'Please insert a CD', it sounds like the bit that reads the CD has dropped lose...any ideas anyone?

Jibba, once my set up is back to scratch you welcome to have a mix at mine mate. I';m gutted myself I can't record anything either, & there's plenty of places my demo's need to be going...grrrr

I use HPRecordNow to burn CDs and quite often it doesn't register the blank CD's, so I end up going through most of the spindle...

If I use those 'faulty' CDs for first burn of the batch they are ok, it's only when I'm making a second or third [or twenty-third!] copy...

Try that exchange and buy up in Headington. They'll have a look at it for free without charging you for work thats impossible to fix if ya get me.

You could try those cd cleaners ie a blank cd with cleaning fibres on it.

END OF QUOTING SESSION
