does anyone know where to get those really high quality ear plugs that look like a hearing aid? Also has anyone got them and are they alright for mixing with?

Think my ears are slowly giving up!

I have the Elacin ER15s
they're great
moulded with 3 different types of filters. -3db, -9db and -15db
I currently have the -9db filters (one of which I have lost and replaced with blue tac which does the job perfetly)
Obviously for mixing you want to have decent headphones to start with but I would reccomend getting the -3db filters for this job and another pair of -9db when raving.
they just lower the volume rather than block out the sound. essential purchase.
cant remember where i got mine from but had to go to the JR to get the moulds done.

Reminds me I need to get some new one, lost mine :( Well worth getting though, used to make a lot of difference when going to the End or any club even with shit systems.

ER15's are fine to mix with if you have good headphones, like the Sennheiser HD25 series. I won't go to a club or gig without them.

Essential purchase. I just wish I'd got mine sooner as I now have Tinnitus and there's no real cure for it.

you can kind of pull them out slightly so they're not as snug - lets a little more top end thru without the harshness - seriously tho Blu tac really works well as a replacement filter

Go to Tara tripp hearing in cowley, they don't size you up as such more like put some very quick expanding and drying foam in your ears to make the moulds from.

Erm, if you want ear plugs you will have to pay for them, the only places I know that do them are Tara tripps and the JR. You can if you want go to Tara's and get the moulds done and then just not pick up the plugs if you don't want them.

Get the Elacins, I wouldn't scrimp on this sort of thing matey.

I would honestly pay £20k to get my hearing back to the way it used to be.

It wouldn't work for those with permanent damage though.

And givern the fact that the temporary tinnitus would have gone anyway it probably means nothing.

Do you know if any studies have been carried out with stem cell research and tinnitus?
