anyone got any thoughts on how this could go & what outcomes there could be?

my case is on hold and is valued at around £3,000 so am very interested to hear the results!

mine is on hold too, they owe me £1800, I'm not holding out much hope of ever seeing it again. If they lose the case & are made to pay everyone back in full then surely that would just add to the economic meltdown?

No idea at the mo. It would be interesting to see how on earth the banks can challenge the legislation, it's pretty clear. The problem is can the banks afford to refund everyone? Of course the other argument is that huge refunds to people would increase spending significantly and really help with the economy.

And Bondy mate, it's pretty clear how Mike has incurred so many charges! He lives WAY beyond his means! :)

They're not wrong to penalise people for going over their overdrafts but the amount is way too much that's what I think is very wrong and once you get 1-3 charges of up to £90 it's so difficult to regain that the month after, it's like an evil cycle. If they were more reasonable people would be able to regain that loss the month after and not be in such a bad way.

I "used" to live beyond my means. I think I've done well since that "era". Considering I've been paying half a mortgage for a house I haven't lived in since Dec 07 (plus extras initially), rent at parents & storage AND steadily been paying off loans alongside I've been forced to live on what I actually have spare each month for once and actually have money left now at the end of each month!

Now take out the mortgage (pending) and things should be sweet!

This Bank Charges would seriously help me out if it did go in the customers favour!!!
