Hi folks. Been looking for something which can help me with the tedious job of catergorising my samples. Problem is I have Battery, Giga, Wav, akai, aiff, and all sorts. Can anyone recommend a good prog which can read most formats and enable me to move things about into catergories easier.
Anyone with suggestions?

Cheers

You may have started to think that someone has found a solution to your little problem as there is a reply to it now but im afraid i dunno. There proberbly is one, its just the location that is unknown (as well as what it is and stuff) but i dont know where/what or any of that. It may seam a bit daft me replying then but you did ask and i didnt want to be rude :P

It's a tricky one i know! Someone please. Takes me too long in wavelab 4.
I'm spending more time going through samples cleaning them up, editing and shit than bloody writing tracks.

mate - serious not being a dick,

why not just make a folder like C:\Samples and many subfolders in it like

c:\samples\wav c:\samples\akai etc

Then go to the folder with all yer samples in it, go to right click, arrange files by TYPE. Then they will categorised in that folder. Cut and paste according to type into the relevant folder in c:\samples.

nahmeen?

@ Phil We're gonna have to arrange all our samples mate, we've both pretty much got the same selection now havn't we? Apart from your college samples of course B)

We tend to just stick them into the Fruityloops samples folder, however, Melodise, Manik etc probly not using fruityloops, so I dunno what to recommend ;)

done that already. i need a prog that i can play previews of the samples all quickly so i can catergorise them into this format. Particully recently while i'm downloading thousands of megs of shit a day. Don't want to be opening every individaul sample in wavelab takes all day man! Multi read format basicly. The search goes on!
