In all fairness mate, some people listen to the dark stuff and see that as being all the same.
You have to look at both sides of the argument.

I love a bit of both. Was listening to quite a dark R Typee & Playa tape from best of british 2 years ago and that was sick yet I also love my twisted beats etc

mikee- i think that was more of a "fluid?!, i might have to attend this"!!
as for styles.....
twisted is the best at the sound, but like anything variety is the spice of life and if its all the same its boring. No matter whether its dark, light or anything in between!

"dark" drum&bass pushes production techniques enevlope. admitedly in all sub-genres there will be weak tunes but some of the stuff i heard bad company play last friday blew my mind.
this wobbly stuff uses excactly the same production technique, lfo oscillation. which is why i can't stomach much more of it. it's the lowest common denominator drum&bass ever produced, some tunes are enjoyable but it fucking hurts me to see the likes of edrush, optical and grooverider play drum&bass for the playground generation.

Yeah but I love that shit.
Stuff like Concentration on Dope Dragon ?
That's wobbly sh*t but it's heavy !!
Jump Up brings good vibes imo at the end of the day and that's probably why I like it more over the dark stuff.

I think production has little to do with it from my perspective.
- Im just fed up of hearing same sounds on my ears.
All about variety. A tune with a wobbl,y sound dropped in when there's been none of that sound in teh set so far will have better impact than if you had entire sets made up of those tunes IMO.
At the end of the day its what pleases our ears so its hardly suprising we all have different tastes is it.

well eveolution is required for any genre to survive from pop music throgh to the most underground of dance music.
i do not condone people enjoying themselves at a dance and i do not disagree that dancefloor d&b is fantastic because it is.
i mean i FUCKING LOVE FLOODLIGHT!
just goes to show that dancefloor doesn't have to be unimaginative.

yea, what he said
twisted runs things as far as the whole woy bas sline thing goes...
any one who imitates it, just sounds WEAK, and like they're jumping on the bandwagon!
(yo, i like piutull btw... ive got it in my bag... one for a tease me thinks!)

Nothing to do with that. You have the right to your own opinion, just like the next man...
Sorry Manik...
I just find it a bit patronising how you say these things you get me?
No worries.

You ain't saying "I LIKE etc etc..." you are saying the people who like / do that etc fit into some 'lower' category.
Playground generation?
Please.

i agree man...
its like you said to me you aint up for dark shit at HQ, you dont see me either kissing ass or playing anything less than my fav tunes.
i aint up for the same sounding bass lines through out an entire set, hence why i left the arena when twisted came on at the kendar
i try not to diss ppl for their personal choice in tunes, but i wont be attanding twisted and distorted
