Hi, Quick note to those buying a new PC for audio work,
I bought a PC the other day, a brand new one from PC WORLD OXFORD.
Here is the short list (I can't be bothered to type the lot) of problems I had:
1) I found that I knew more about computing than the staff did.
2) They actually LIED about the Audigy 2 being not out yet.
3) They told me that if I install my own soundcard guarantee is void.
4) They told me that if they install it it'll take 4 days minimum.
5) They didn't know PHUK ALL about soundcards FULL STOP.
Basically, go for a proper music PC group, not bloody pc world boys!

Exactly. I did however get my PC from there but i didnt have any special specification dodas so it was a case of pointing at the one i wanted and waiting for them for ages fussing about trying to find some paper work or something, i dunno. I also knew that the staff that work there (or more or less all other pc worlds) dont know shit. Well not the ones that are there anyway. They always seam to be looking for / finding people that know more than they do. Heres a tip - look at the dust in the carpet. Thats also their carrers

I have a funny story about PC world.
Short of it was, I got served by someone so dumb that I paid for an Intel Celeron 1.3 with 128MB RAM and 10GB hard drive, they got the wrong one off the shelf and gave be a 2.5GHz Pentium 4 with 512MB RAM and an 80GB drive!!
What a muppet!
So I got out of there before they noticed anything! Rah!!!
So if you go to PC world, ask for Adam..... he'll do you a good deal!!
:D

i did on the other hand get my pc from there, unfortunately it was shortly before i realised that drum and bass is the shit! else i would have blatantly got a pc set up for production
