Hi all, saw this today and I was horrified (source: drum n bass arena):
Stakka & Skynet moved their labels and themselves to Seattle, WA in the summer of 2001. After a year in the states DJ'ing and producing out of their studio, (in the shadow of the Seattle Mariners baseball stadium), they decided that they had taken the labels as far they could together, and with a move planned, they would go their separate ways. Stakka describes "We are both at different points in our lives right now'
With that ends the Stakka & Skynet recording partnership and the labels Underfire, Audio Blueprint, and Zero G. The last release on Underfire recordings will be a triple pack remix EP featuring four remixes from the Clockwork LP, a Stakka & Skynet remix of ‘Black Monday’ from the DSCI4 LP and a bonus new track called ‘Metalaw’.
GUTTED!!!
Here's the good news:
DJ/Producer Stakka starts new label called ‘Cargo Industries’ after the split of Stakka & Skynet and their jointly owned labels. The first release will be touching down in mid January 2003 with two tracks that where originally scheduled for release on Underfire, but have since been pulled for his new project. Cargo number 1 will be a 12” single with the dancefloor killer ‘Brainwash’ by Militia, the newly formed group comprising of Stakka, K. Tee, Friction & Skinny
pity cos I really really liked their work...
