Flyering Crew - Help Needed!

here is the skinny.

i need people to flyer HQ and Source around Oxford.

in return, we will flyer YOUR nights at events that we do that you may not be able to reach... events such as Beatjam in Reading, Terra:Technique in Banbury and Leamington and even some of the Birmingham events if you so wish.

you see living in Birmingham I can't get to every event and If you folks can help me out, i'll repay the favour by flyering your events at the things I reach..

Like you said - they don't know the background.

Source doesn't cater for Oxford DJ's [unless it's producing Oxford DJ's? Jossy, Jay Jay & Chemical produce...
They cater for Timeless and it's affiliated labels. That's their call innit.

I'm, sure Brillo knows where I am if he wants me to play but I'm not all that fussed [just like you obviously] but I don't blame mans for wanting a set or residency there, just because we don't doesn't mean they shouldn't.

Besides I'm associated with you so probably wouldn't get booked you rowdy mother hubbard!! :fingah:

I've only been to a handful of Sources, and although everyone has been pricier than I expected I've usually come out of there with good memories [or none!] but I prefer parties with more choice of DJ's and MC's...

The only thing arguably better about Source to other nights for me is the visuals.

It's seriously sad that certain promoters get the monopoly but at least you know that Brillo has to brown-nose!

source have had tonnes of local djs play over the years and no doubt they will continue to have locals play...

they also champion artists who are linked to the various labels.

jay jay has been resident there for years and gets his hands on plenty of upfront dubs.

out of all these people who wanna play there how many have actually given brillo a demo?!?!?!

I've offered my help, to every promoter, and no not coz I wanna set out of it...True that'll be good, but thats not what i'm about.
Most promoters know me, & have heard me DJ, so if they wanna book me they'll book me...although nobody is...:( :P.

All I want is for there to be a wicked Jungle scene in Oxford, and if I can help out peeps thats cool! I'm sure most peeps are with me! :)

well I don't know about Brillo, as far as I am concerned the man does too much coke and has a major attitude problem, but then it seems to me that there are other promoters who carry on in just the same way as him! no names...........

source was one of the first drum and bass events that i went to back in 1997 when j majik played. they have had a long and succesful time promoting. i have no intention of not going to see djs when they play in oxford just because they are playing at a particular event. I love this music, but as dave said, it's a part of my life. And as for brown-nosing... make up your own minds.

i'm in this for the music. i produce music because otherwise i'd go insane, and i dj because i need a form of release from the stresses of everyday life. if i can share that release with other people and they enjoy it then all the better.

I passed Brillo a CD but it wasn't for gaining a booking, more as an introduction to my styles.
