I am tinkin of buy some new dexs and was guna get a pair of technics but i heard a rumer that pannasonic where discontinuing the technics sl1210 series. Does one know if its true?

well it was ed "blagger jew" lewington that told me after cumin bac from his vestax dj course, he rekoned that were guna replace it wit some pannasonic deck. do u know if ya can still enter that dj comp at avid?

Yes the competion is still going, we've got all th entries for February Compound. But we're still taking entries for march!
Just take in a CD/Tape/MD into Avid with all ya detail on, make sure you've got on it FAO Compound comp

i would guess a dj competition should be judged on a varierty of parameters

1. tune selection
2. mixing (obviously)
3. crowd reaction

these would be the main 3 but also there would be other factors involved too.

Manikular is right..it aint just about how good you mix...if ya tune selection is lame, then u might come unstuck! Crowd approval will be taken into account aswell though..

Those that enter, will be judged by the Compound residents! Bribes might be accepted! :rolleyes: :D Joking...

The winners of each nite will go into another round, then the overall winner, will become a 'Compound' regular on da decks, other prizes are to be discussed between the other promotors & myself...so watch this space! :)

well formula inc. is the new one which i'm doing with some of the folk from sidewinder...

newvision has been going for 3 years and recently added to that have been nv2 and also new vision america.. so it's getting there :)

new vision has had 10 releases including work from Total Science, Spirit, Simon Bassline Smith and co.

i'm 1/2 of rareform mate... had about 10 releases..

there isn't a best software really, go with what ever you find yourself comfortable using...

alot of people opt for cubase... i would recomened "reason" for it's stand alone capabilities..

ohh yea! did ya know that the TECHNICS name is a brand of Panasonic's... (they make tech's) so it wouldnt be out of the question for them to stop producing 'em. as they're replacement would kick ass as well :)
