Is this because drum and bass culture is big in oxford. If anyone wants to be an mc they choose drum and bass over hip hop. Does anyone know any different? Are there any drum and bass mcs that do hip hop aswell in oxford??

it was quite funny... it was at the uni.. so not that "street" if you know what i mean..

but yeah it was quite funny.

they gave you five words and you had to freestyle about them.

I'm not looking for any mcs just wondering why i never realy see any hip hop ones in oxford. Also I thought more local d+b mcs would come to the uk hip hop nights that are on to try and get on the mic and bust some hip hop styles but they don't(accept for lady blaze). does anyone think an mc battle is needed in oxford?

Innit.... Most D'n'B MC's I know can put their lyrics over Hip Hop... It ain't hard!

Hip Hop at 90bpm and Jungle at 180bpm means they still fit, it's just half as many snares!

if i still lived in oxford i would be down... but now i live in birmingham so it's tricky!

Yeah a battle would be good.

Stop the double timing for once and actually see who's got the lyrics rather than the mininiminimibididibibidibidibidi's!!!

yeh but dnb mcs aint really hiphop mcs, they just literally double time over
tunes that work it's bullshit, ever heard that 2timesfreestyle det n skibba?
it's nothing to do with hip hop,it's like busting garage lyrics over trance or
hard house, tru bring on the lyricists

Not always though there are nuff MC's who ain't got the stamina or desire to try and keep up that quick all the time...

I put some of the young MC's in BBL through shit when I'm on the decks... At the speed I play they have no choice but to lose a few syllables here and there!! :badteeth:

Personally I think the scene will continue to speed up [but the subs will still be there Manik] and the MC's will have to slow down to fit.:hyper:

ive met 'kid fury' (Franklin) before thru some friends unrelated to dnb, he's a presenter on a new radio station in oxford.
i forget the name of it now, but his crew are well into the uk hip hop scene apparently, and they're from oxford

plus a guy i worked with a few months ago was a hip hop mc, he moved to oxford.

i think some ppl on the board might have heard of neil pinell?
i know he knows mc mj..
