New Venue IN Oxford!

A local business consortium in conjunction with the first leisure group are proud to announce the development of a new leisure space close to the city centre. Ron Mcollogh who is famed for developing Glasgow's Arches venue, Media in Nottingham and the infamous home club in London is involved with the financing and the design of this new 440 capacity space. The venue will be managed by the Academy group who also run the Fez and Po-na-na chains around the UK.

In accordance with the eclectic music policy of Ron's venues various hip and happening local promoters are being draughted into promote the various nights in the venue, nights confirmed so far are Vinyl Frontier, Depthcharge, Sonic and HQ.

The venue is earmarked to open in Oct 2004 ready for the influx of new students.

doubt it, dougie usually promotes a different sound to what the other clubs run..

depthcharge - ragga jungle and oldskool
source - the timeless sound / cutting edge beats
hq - rollers and choppage and electro bizniz

kinetic - something for everyone

There's also gonna be a new walkabout bar in town at some point with a capacity second only to Dark End. Its gonna replace the opium den and the building next to it.

Hopefully that place will fill with the Ben Shermans leaving Dark End to become a reputable club....and the pig flew...

Hit n Run is a student based dnb night. The next 4 are:

May 5th
May 19th
June 2nd
June 16th

We do open dexz 8-10 every time. This term we're having a competition with the winners of the heats in the first three nights facing off at the final night.

If u wanna enter Niki reply with the date you want (5th, 19th or 2nd) and I'll stick you down and see you then!!!!

Manik you confuse me sometimes. 'April fools' are supposed to be on April 1st before midday or they're not April fools.

They're also supposed to be a bit far-fetched so people can go "Oh April fool...ya got me" rather than "yeah we need a new venue in Oxford, about time too" - or suchlike!
