Heard it's now been passed for it to be illegal to flyer in Oxford.

Anyone else heard of this?

It is not illegal to hand out flyers anywhere, as it is done for all business's at all times.

It is illegal to fly poster on any property belonging to the council parish or county!

Whats funny is the council tried to do me for fly posting, what they didnt know was that I had inside information, that they paid a company to go round and stick their posters up all over the town.

I then explained that I worked for the local press (which I did)

I'm still putting up flyers & handing them out, we've not surposed to fly poster council & parish things anyway...but that hasn't stopped anyone!

If the council is so concerned about it, why don't they put up more boards for fly posters?

I got a bollocking from someone at the Council who had nuff photographic evidence of our poster campaigns...

At the end of the day, any member of public can photocopy a flyer to the size of a poster and go about sticking them up to sabotage someone in that way!

If I go around sticking up posters with some grunge band on there will that band have to take responsibility?!

the council passed a by law back in jan making it illegal to giv eout flyers in oxford town centre ! they only started pulling people on this last week as we kept on getting stopped whilst promotiong republica. we are awaiting for this to be confirmed as this wasnt communicated to only of the clubs. we did mention to the polive about people giving out charity leaflets etc but they said they didnt know and that they had just been told to stop us !!

i get a feeling that they are going to try stop us pasting and boarding soon too as well.

with regards to bling bling they have been given 48 hrs to remove their posters from bus shleters etc or recieve a £1000 per poster fine. i know this is true as the area manager was out earlier with the promoters tidying up !!!

if it has upset the council that much they should have spoke to the clubs first and told us we need to tidy up after ourselves, thats what we were doing last 2 weeks and the was hardly no mess !

Anyway, it's just about taking pride in where you live. Don't matter whether it's flyers or MacD boxes. If you don't piss and litter your living room, why do it in the street?

I WAS ALWAYS TOLD WHEN I WAS FLYERING FOR CLUBS THAT IT IS OK AS LONG AS YOU DONT PUT THEM ON ANYTHING LIKE BUILDINGS/PHONEBOXES THAT KINDA THING - THERE ARE LOADS OF PEOPLE FLYERING IN TOWN EVERY NIGHT - SHOULDNT WORRY ABOUT IT!!
