How FICKLE We all are , without owen we wouldn't even be in the tournament ! Remember in the world cup he didn't score any in the group stage and then went on to score in the next two games ! He will be back ! Hopefully rooney will draw the attention away from owen and portugal will forget that we have another world class striker in owen .

If we can sort out the organisation on free kicks and corners i think our attacking play will be to hot to handle and we should win . But i don't think that will mean that we will win at all ! We will probably still need to beat czech rebubli and france to win and that will not be a easy .... at all.

thought Scholesy had a good game and nice to see him back on the scoresheet after a 3 year absence! thought in general we looked pretty sharp and our play was fluid last night. Think Lampard's having a good tournament too - he's come so far since joing the Blues! did look like Terry had a slight niggle but would be happy to have King in his place anyway. Sol CAmpbell was a rock as always - got to be one of the best if not THE best defender in the world at the moment. Owen looked better than he has done in previous games, but you could see he lacks confidence because in the build up to one of the goals, he had loads of space on the left to run at the defenders and he just kinda slackened off and passed it. Would still rather have him than Heskey though. I'm sure he'll score soon, but i'd be tempted to start with Vassell up front. His pace is always gonna put pressure on the oppositions defence.Thought we looked exposed at every deadball situation though. Whenever there was a free kick or corner i thought they would score. Portugal looked terribly tame against the Spanish and never really looked like scoring. Ronaldo is the only danger really.

beckham did ood last night, considering he was being marked by 2 people the entire game! i was well impressed with rooney assisting just as much as striking, he really is englands verision of henry..

I think that beckham is to over rated! He cant take any one on, he isnt fast, isnt really strong.

the only thing he does is hit a ball really far( but what good is that when there is no one to aim for), take free kicks/corners( which seem to be getting worse) and getting paid WAY to much!

like who? phillips is rubbish, beatie couldn't score in a brothel, shearer and sherringham won't play international anymore.. there's not really anyone else to put up front! apart from Defoe who i would have taken but Owen has a rep that's gonna scare defenders a little bit and they'll back off him slightly. i'm sure he'll score soon. look at the Italians - they can't score, neither can the Spanish or the Portuguese or even the French that much... no one's having a paricularly great tournament, apart from maybe Sweden who are looking in ok form. can't believe the Italians are out! This is my opinion!!

If beckham hadnt scored that goal from the half way line against wimbledon then he would be just another player! Because he scored that goal ppl started to take notice of him, and everytime he scored or played an OK game, ppl would say beckham is this or beckham is that. Look at players who dont score every game but play there hearts out every game trying to get a result for club and country!

Example- G neville (if thats how u spell it) he works so hard every game! (for club and country) why is he not on £100,000 a week! Because he dosnt wear dimond earings, isnt married to a spice girl and dont sell many club shirts with his name on!

Ive never ever rated Beckham...yea he's done the odd good thing but i just dont think he merits all the big ups he gets, hes no better than half the players around
