my music collection goes from chilled albums from the likes of telepop musik, royksopp and massive attack, via the likes of leftfield and orbital right up to twisted house from the likes of cevin fisher and the silver planet guys via a rather natty old skool hardcore collection ending with drum&bass and of course a healthy smattering of weird stuff!

Hip Hop - despite Tim Westwood's best efforts to make hiphop look like music for wanna-be's it is still one of the most diverse styles around. Contrary to popular belief not all rappers talk about gunz, dollar and biches, and even when they do......SO?
I like the contrast it provides to drumnbass.
Trance - dont know much about trance but I like what I hear...Overkill has a decent trance album...i think it's quite old but it is great for chillin B)
Pop - love it. every chedder-soaked minute. really. *ahem* :o :D :D :D

most people who know me know that i'm feelin the hip hop beats B) (much to the dismay of some of the other bass invaders).
trance was a major thing for a few of us back in the day, and happy hardcore will always have a (albeit slightly cheesy) place in my heart. :>

I listen to a lot of hip hop and RnB, Im well into old hip hop, sugarhill, grandmaster flash etc, love early soul and funk right through to the current stuff. Used to be a serious hard house/techno head and can still kick down to it now. In fact there isnt much I dont like................. Why categorise yourself,it all depends on my mood!

i love hardcore when hardcore was hardcore..
when dougie, vibes, slipmatt, sy and seduction tried to crank up the marketing machine with a little help from chris brown and coin this new 4-beat bollox it went dreadfully wrong..
chedderesque synth stabs coupled with cringeworthy helium vocals may have been a dream come true for the flourescent jacket crew but i just couldn't dig it..
now i don't mind good quality trance music... the dutch stuff is always very well produced, i'm an avid fan of the likes of sander klienenberg and early ferry corsten is awesome untill he had a constant hankering for the same pre-set on his synth... you know the one - wasps in a jar business.
god i miss the old days *sobz*

I used to be into my indie stuff, and went through goth (yes goth!) and metal stages before drum and bass hit me hard between the eyes.
I have albums by the likes of Metallica, Sepultura, Ned's Atomic Dustbin, PWEI, and The Foo Fighters to name but a few, also the Cure and Guns and Roses!
I also like stuff like Portishead, Tricky, etc.,
Dance music wise - the Chemical Brothers are always pretty awesome, as well as dare I say it Fatboy Slim. Of course Orbital and the Orb are there... I'm also really feeling LTJ Bukems Earth stuff at the mo..
Also Classical stuff... most of you have probably given up! but here goes. Shostakovic (not spelt right!) Mozart, Mahler, Beethoven, heavy Romantic stuff and discordant modern too!
Right, lunch is over, back to the grindstone!

Mozart eh? hmmm.......
Apparently if your are mathematically minded you will like classical music because the way the notes and melodies are arranged is considered by some to be "Mathematical Art"
Raw - educate me man - bring some classical shiznit down gee's or summit next time you're about
I dont believe anyone has mentioned PRODIGY as yet. I have 2 albums, Fat of the Land & Music for the Jilted Generation (i think that was its name) and I can't really fault any of the tunes on either album.
Mindfield <-----yes!

It's still all about the Prodigy's first album 'EXPERIENCE' forget the ELECTRONIC PUNK 1995 onwards stuff.
Younger ravers can't fully appreciate what they did for that era.
THANK YOU LIAM HOWLETT - YOU AND YOUR CREW GET BACK TO SUNBATHING. BIG UP.

I started off with pop music, cos really if you think about it, most people don't have a choice because they don't know about anything else when they are young... I was always more attracted to the harder faster more techno like tunes, ones that stick out were 'swamp thing' by the grid, 'no limit' (oh god I really shouldn't be saynig this) by 2 unlimited, all tunes by Capella (f**king bad stuff that) and that sort of thing. Around the same time, I was hanging a bout with slightly older boys who were into early hardcore so I got into that, it was hard, fast, uplifting and was basically bouncy techno. After a good five years being well into that stuff I found that I was developing a liking to the quick underlying breakbeats that some hardcore tunes had with them (DJ POPPY 'YES YES'). Then I got into drum n bass from there really. I also checked out some of the deeper trance (Jon 00 Fleming / Ferry Corsten's earler stuff etc). That's it really.

ok, Here goes. I like to think i have variety when it comes to listening to music.
I like the whole hip-hop scene. first album i brought was ICE T- HOME INVASION. The last album was DILATED PEOPLES- EXPANSION TEAM.
Also in my CD collection is the likes of David Gray, Orbital, Leftfield - Leftism (2nd copy), Groove Armada, Notorious B I G, Adam Freeland,(nu skool beakz) and The Fugees.
During the dark ages of D n B (97-98), I was quite getting into hard house and trance. But Then the D n B picked up and h-house n trance was knocked on the head.
I also quite often bring out the old skool. The likes of ELLIS DEE @ FANTAZIA.
As for the D n B, I will listen to the likes LTJ to TWISTED INDIVIDUAL.
My next album on the shopping list is Royksopp.
Not forgeting the nice peeps @ knowledge mag who supply us with gratis cd's 8 times a year.
