Some-one at work was saying this today


Apparently it is perfectly LEGAL to shoot a Welshman in Hereford, with a crossbow.


Some english king came up with the law a few hundred years ago.....presumably after having been to Hereford and being involved in a violent encounter with a welshman.

This law has not yet been revoked and is still in existence today!

its a law that was passed ages ago (middle ages probly) and no MPs can be bothered to pull it because it seems so unlikely.

Theres LOADS of them mate, in USA there are even dumber ones like "it is illegal for a man in Kentucky to wear black shoes on the day of the superbowl - unless he is also wearing a green coat" I just made that one up but trust me....do a search on yahoo or summit for <b>"stupid laws"</b>


Like did you know that in england it is illegal to eat mince pies on xmas day? (this is not recent legislation...its from ages ago but obviously nobody follows it)

Check these:

In Chester you can only shoot a Welsh person with a bow and arrow inside the city walls and after midnight.

In Hereford you may not shoot a Welsh person on Sunday with a longbow in the Cathedral Close.

In Liverpool it is illegal for a woman to be topless in public except as a clerk in a tropical fish store.

are quite a few and i seakm to think various words are not spelt the way they should be.

also, html coiding uses american spellings which makes it all the more taxing on the cogs

curning in my head. So, i just type close enough to what i mean and hope the people reading

it are not to stupid and will get the general idea :)
