Best night of hippetty hoppety I've been to in a while. It had the feel of 8 mile battling scenes with the awesome freestyling and crowd hanging on the mc's every word. Beats were crisp and the warm up showcase group weren't bad either (captive state were they called?). Scratching perfect as usual, provided by Tom and Fu.

Impressive night, even if Phi were there for the shortest time ever!

What a night, never seen the venue so rammed albeit with a fair few tourists in there.

Props go to the supporting acts, whose appearance belied their proficient mic skills [esp the guy who looked like a Glastonbury legal-high stallowner but dropped rhymes like Braintax]. Good to see a healthy number of FTB heads in there. The only downsides being Phi Life turning up 45 mins late and subsequently performing for 45 mins - and of course, the delightful doormen who refused my man entry even though he had a photocopy of his passport, credit cards and had upholstered and refurbished the venue earlier this year.

Think they were IDing everyone coz of all the youts that were kicking about?

I thought the support acts were pretty bad to be honest, apart from a couple of the MCs (think they were called Metamorph and Bruvverman, something like that anyway). Fair enough if they were just starting out but that's my opinion anyway.

Wasn't feeling the cheesy reference to 8 mile or the crowd giving props to some shit lines, but was still a properly good night. Shout outs to Denise, Mikee, Niki etc. Totally forgot about posing for that CrewDem pic, that was jokes.

Apologies for the cheese but I thought the lyrics were really good - well for what you'd expect in the cellar anyway. It's not often that you get everyone actually listening. Guess I must be used to the student crowd....

That's fair enough mate, I'm not saying it was shit, I've just heard them do such similar stuff before. Also you must admit the crowd went crazy at the end of each line no matter what it was.

Was a good night all round though.

Ok, I'll give you that but on the plus side it was nice to have the intimate crowd thing going on. I was behind the stage and everyone there seemed quite chilled- and I also got introduced to some FTB peops who i've not met before (Mr Pink Niki for one). Jibba, twas good to see you!

The night was quality.

To be honest, I wasn't overly fussed about Phi Life.

I was more into the scratch antics.

The funny thing is, my mate was brocking out to 'Jump' for a while on Friday night before I explained to him who the tune was by.

easy. was a real good night, good crowd down, nice and busy. Some of the support good - the dudes Grande mentioned, some guy saying he was gon be on Channel U and MTV base talked about guns and stuff, wasn't really feelin him.

Thought Phi-Life were kinda dry. Same routeen again, still don't think they have recorded any new material in a while. Some drunk people biggin up week freestyles by the life and the sci phillie, but we're all backpacking cunts and have high expectations... or do we!?

Fu and Burton was niceness.

As usual spent more time drinkin than anything else, needed to carve out some space to dance... wasn't happening till the end!

Good to meet some new (and old) peeps.

Daddy mac will make ya.....
