Bit of a strange night this one...

The open mic was jokes - (and i hate to admit it) but Ineff absolutely killedit. No one touched him last night. Kid Fury, who i remember thinking was aight last open mic @ Foreign Beggasr at Park End time ago, was utter crap and embarassed himself. Big up Ineff! :cool:

Foreign Beggars put on an absolutely wicked show with Dr Syntax and Shlomo (amongst others) coming down. Syntax's accapella was dope!:funk: Shlomo was sick again. Not Kella standard yet but he's good and works well with the crowd. The Foregin Beggars were hot too, no-names has certainly improved since i last saw him. got them all to sign my vinyl copy of Asylum Speakers which was cool too.

Beatnuts sucked. At the warm up/sound check all the did was moan moan moan and bring a load of attitude with them. They had a real go at the sound man all night man. He was just trying to do his job for fucks sake, he didnt need some jumped up Yank on his case all night! Foregin Beggars seemed to do alright with the sound, why did the Beatnuts have a problem?!?

The Beggars did an excellent job of hyping the crowd in prep for the Beatnuts, but the Beatnuts decided that they wanted to wait ages before going on stage. Thus the crowd got tired of waiting (though Fu was playing some good shit and doing some ridiculously sick scratching and Yungun was doing his thing too) and i saw people leave. By the time they came on, the crowd seemed tired, having been so worked up through the Beggars set.

Then the lead MC moaned all the way through his set, barely moved, didnt even raise a smile for the Oxford crowd and then asked us why we weren't feeling it! it's because youre standing there like a moody fuckin teenager, moanin at the poor sound guy, complaining about everything, acting like a fuckin diva and not giving a proper performance! they didnt jump around at all really, just stood there and did a deadpan delivery.

Fuck you Beatnuts! I really wanted to see you but you were really poor. Not only did they mic check all the way through the first 45 mins of my hour set, but they werent professional and acted as if they were superstars. Cunts.

Props to Shaun and all the BnR crew for a wicked night though, a lot of hard work went into this one. Dougie for the sound, Solisai crew for a tight set, thoguh we couldnt hear shit, and everyone that turned up.

The Rabbi Shlomo was cool, Vulgatron and Dr Syntax were sick- put in lots of effort unlike the Beatnutz ..! - their performance was a real let down.. i should of got my last bus home after the F Beggars instead of waiting for that US cod rollocks /and having to walk home!@2was2 tired

looking forward to the next one IRON BRIDGE /will be good! and the one in Swindon should be interesting..!

no worries mate. So glad we managed to get the Vestax mixer in the end. That 4 channel 1980's one was terrible! Big up Dougie for sorting that one out!
