A night at Thirst Bar

Ok so i've got this flier in front of me and i'm thinking of putting on a FTB night, let me know what you think, whether it'd be viable and any suggestions/opinions. I mean the fact that the venue is free is the biggest thing but i'm not sure whether they'd let us put on a night advertised as our own with our own DJ's. What do you reckon?

Yeah its a bit camp on the house nights, but this wouldn't be a house night!

I think it wud b ok, I went there on saturday and didnt really notice it was camp, it just seemed full of student types.

The only thing with it there is theres not really a dancefloor and Im sure at a drum n bass night people would wanna dance. Or maybe there is its just everytime Ive been there its been really packed and havent noticed it. Do lush cocktails in there too..

Free to hire though sounds good. cant really go wrong if its free!?

Well what I was thinking was to simply ask them if I could hire out the venue for a party and bring in our own DJ's ie you lot!

If I got a few fliers and posters done then its advertising their bar for the rest of the venue (I think a party doesn't take up the whole venue and they still allow others in).

Could make it a FTB social with the bonus of us lot playing out.

I'll give them a bell and see whats up...

It's not like any of us are gunna be going to this over HQ is it.

I would imagine most of us would go to both.

As long as wherever possible people try to go to the nights they're not DJing at aswell I reckon it'll be a good laugh

A big sorry to everyone who wanted to play at this night.

I just spoke to the guy who owns Thirst bar and he was quite abrupt with me moaning that none of his precious punters would like to listen to anything other than what they're used to ie house.

I told him it'd be chilled drum n bass from respected DJ's from the local circuit then he gave it the "Oh our DJ's are booked a month in advance...and you can't expect to take over our club for one night"

Bit of a twat really...still he asked me for a mix as he's always after new DJ's. Hypocritical I hear you say?
