Nah it's cool i don't mind. Few peeps on here know about it anyway.
Basically i get really bad panic attacks in certain situations (in any vehicle not driven by me, in clubs when it's overly crowded etc). it's a bit like sever claustraphobia i guess. Not sure what's brought it on but i've been having them for 4 years and it stops me doing loads of stuff so thought it was about time i got it sorted.
So if you see me scarpering from a club early and in a rush, i'm having a panic attack!
the hypno's alright. I see him once a week (£50 a pop is proving to be quite expensive!) and we chat for a bit, then i get into the red chair and he talks me into a relaxed state and we talk about memories and emotions from things in my past. He uses a bio-feedback machine to read my true reactions (so if i say i'm cool with something, but the meter is going crazy, then he knows i'm lying, or there's something i'm supressing, or there's something wrong on a sub-conscious level).
it seems to be working a bit. i was really panicky about going to the POrtishead gig, for hwatever reason, but we had a special session to prepare for itand i managed to get in and have a wicked time.
i don't imagine it's for everyone. you do have to have faith that it will work. Sceptics might find this a bit difficult, but most of them do free consultations so you could make an apoointment just to fins out what it's all about and whether it's for you.

Mate I've had to deal with exactly the same thing for years now, I put mine down to a severe head injury I had 8 years ago. I'm MUCH better now although using alcohol to self medicate doesn't help in the long run.
Do you smoke draw?

yeah i smoke pretty much everyday. not huge amounts, usually just a spliff on weekdays and a few more on weekends. don't imagine it helps much but seeing as i don't drink, it's one of the few pleasures i have and i'm not ready to give it up. i did try for a while, but with all my housemates smoking it, it's hard to resist!
i use to have quite bad depression when i was younger too so it all kinda works against me. i try not to let it get me down, but it's annoying because i have to drive EVERYWHERE otherwise i get panicky!

If you can, give up smoking dope - that's definitely gonna be the main cause of it IMO. Sometimes lot of it comes from low self esteem (sp) & how you perceive yourself etc...

Sure you don't just need the tobacco?
I swear when people are craving for spliggs (which I used to do on a daily basis) its just simply a nicotine craving.
A spliff is a want not a need.

Yeah Rogue, I know exactly what you're saying man.
I used to and still do get really, really bad panik attacks but after about 6 months of shitting myself not knowing WTF was happening to me I started to realise that it was all in my head.
Whenever i get em now I just make myself do some washing up or whatever takes my mind off it.
Thing is shit loads of people have panik attacks and they haven't got a clue what they are. I'm lucky that I've managed to keep control of mine to a certain extent or rather not let it bother me as much.
The worst thing you can do I've found is to aviod the things that make you have panik attacks, always far better to face your fears head on.
It's also good to remember you're not the only one who's had this and who it'll happen to. It's always soothing to know other people are suffering ;)

well the problem is when i have a panic attack it makes me vomit, so facing my fears by getting in taxis and on buses isn't really an option!
i don't get them so much when i'm in clubs anymore, becuase i refused to stop going so i kind of got over that which is lucky., but i do get them in new venues where i've never been before and don't feel comfortable.
@ Jibba - yeah i don't need weed, but i want it badly and i love it like a brother so i don't want to give it up. I don't drink so i figured there's gotta be something i can do! i don't really do anything more than weed though. Used to do other stuff but been avoiding that stuff for the last six months or so.
