Misdemeanor

First place to start has to be the venue. It's huge! There were no real queues getting in and everything moved quickly... must have got there about 10ish I think, and there were plenty of ppl there. So far it was all good, nice n easy, no hassles.
After wondering round briefly and picking up a map we headed to the dnb room. It looked a bit plain, no decor or anything but more importantly, the system really wasnt all that and i really tried to get into it, but its a bit difficult when you're not sure what you're dancing to. Stood at the back for a while hoping it wouldpick up... Not sure who was on first but Bad Company were soon on and all i'm gonna say is Nosher rmx, another planet, anything old and wobbley, they played it. The more ppl who filled teh arena, the worse system sounded! I was just starting to think "gonna be a long night" when Zinc finally graced the decks!! No 4deck set with friction as promised thou- don't know what happened there. Zinc was probably playing all his latest dubs, wont know for sure until get a cd pack cos couldnt hear a thing really :badteeth: :ban:
After that, we pretty much gave up on the dnb, which turned out to be the best decision of the night really! Went to the frantic arena and saw Nu NRG Collective, bounced around at the front for an hour or so then saw Kenny Ken in the Raindance arena, where the system sounded sweet. Played a classic set, lots of old forgotten tunes that havent been rinsed, next up was Herman, raindance's ressie, who i'd not seen before, his selection was great too...good vibes in that arena (asidethe two rudegal wearing a bandana across their faces "gangsta stylee"what a pair of fucking twats) Then caught a little bit of Ratpack before going back to the 1n arena for the last set, Nicky Blackmarket. Volume was right up when we got back in ther, but judging from what i read on dnba, it seems that nicky was the one who turned it up and we hadnt actually missed anything really. Made it to the front to see if it sounded any better, it didnt and whilst it was louder than the beginning f the night, it wasnt any clearer and still very noisey.
Cleverly, they had separated the arenas with giant curtains. Meaning that you could hear the other systems quite a bit during the night. Apparently in the hardcore arena you could hear the hardhouse, and the trance. But whatever arena you were in whenever there was a breakdown you couldclearly hear next door!
So all in all, good rave, we all had a good time left with a smile on our face in the morning, but if you went for the dnb, you'd be well dissappointed i think. Good job we took some weed as well, thou Im gutted i missed ed rush & Opt. not seen them on a line up for ages, and it was was the main set i wanted to see but really would have wasted my night if i stayed in the one nation arena!!!!
Feel sorry for the suckers paying £40 on the door when frantic were selling their tickets for £20 last wk!
Photos coming soon.
