When you put 2 of teh same tracks on teh decks, slightly apart in timing and play about with the crossfader to get a delayed effect or even make the tuen sound different.

Seen some people, especially after I think Zinc did this with Signal go absolutely mad as if it was teh hardest most complex trrick in the book and people seem to go crazy for it yet it isn't that hard and I always thought it was a bit overrated?

It is good to do every now and then and you can get good sounding drops etc, but for something that is not hard to do at all I think sometimes people get a bit hyped about it lol

If say it was really difficult & techically hard for a DJ to do I think I would have more respect for it.

Do people get where I'm coming from?

Not knocking it, just for something very simple, gets a lot of hype.

To simply clarify a few points before people comment:

This is not a dig, I appreciate it.

I'm merely opening a discusiion about a topic

Michael Jackson IS guilty

Hype does it with Slippery Slops, sounds funny, quite interesting though !

Now beat juggling I can appreciate with tunes, Hype on his recent Kiss show did this with Eksman rolling over and it did sounds really good.

Imagine Madcap can also bust teh beat juggling...(bastard :D )

Also known as the Echo Scratch, pioneered by such hiphop luminaries as Grandmaster Flash and Jazzy Jeff. I love this technique - Fu had people scratching their heads in bewilderment when he flexed it at the last H&R, some fool was even convinced that the system had blown.

If someone does it & it sounds good I can't really see the problem?

If its done right it can sound wicked, but you need the right track. Zincs Signal one sounds well good IMO

I agree with what lot of peeps have said, it can sound wicked in the right set...and if not over used, will always get the crowd going, specially with tracks eveyone loves! :funk:
