it all depends on your age and experience really. I remember that before I turned 21 my insurance was an absolute nightmare - the first car I had I think had a premium similar to the one you have now. It was a Volvo 340.

Now though, I have nearly 7 years of driving under my belt, 3 years no claim discount, and it's dropped to less than half of what I paid at the start.

I now drive a November 2001, Seat Ibiza 1.8T 20V Cupra, Group 16 car, and my insurance renewal has been quoted at £590.
