Which nights has the best policy?

I prefer Depth Charge because
a. the line-ups are more of a ragga-style influence as apposed to techno-style...
b. I know the residents... B)
c. they decorate their venues best...
d. their system hurts my Britneys...
e. the promoters will give me the time of day...

that's a tough one.

source has been around the longer of the two, but depth charge had that underground party vibe going on... but hasn't happened for a while!

DJ SS & Shy FX was the last one if my memory serves me correctly... but depth charge, like break convention ran into problems when it used a certain preserve making establishment for a venue!

I've had some wicked nights at Depth Charge :D , but whenever I asked to help out was told that they had enough people on board... <_<

Source on the other hand has gone from strength to strength doing massive parties at brookes & at the zodiac...

I'm undecided aswell, I loved Depth Charge for the wicked atmosphere, always good vibes going on @ Depth Charge & the D&B was always good. Source on the other hand, has had some wicked nites, specially @ Brookes! :D Concord Dawn were wicked, nice to see some diffiernt names @ these nites! Looking forward to Friction...& the next Oxford Brookes thing, Depth Charge aswell when it comes back! :D

Policy on music, decor, performers, publicity etc. Style of doing things... Whatever you want policy to mean really! :D

well...

both source and depthcharge have always stood by their musical stances, depthcharge has been a party bringing in old and new skool influences with dougie love of bassline tunes... source has always been about the cutting edge..

decor.. depthcharge wins on this although the source have got some natty drapes and the brookes do's have an amazing video wall with argon lazer system..

performers.. both 2nd to none..

publicity... timeless is one of the biggest labels in the world. and depthcharge can ram buildings like no other..

both events are very close to my heart... obviously i've had my ups & downs with source and dougie is and always will be one of my very best friends..

you must remember that source used to be promoted by dougie so in a way source and depthcharge are mutants of each other...

Yes Douglas has mentioned once or twice about his history and thoughts about Source. You know that! This weren't intended as a stirring comment or anything!

Blatantly these are the two premier promoters in Oxford! [At the moment! :D]

Obviously I would like it if Source aknowledged the smaller local groups! That's the only reason I bitch a bit!
I'm not on about getting sets for all the Oxford crew I just thought it would make sense to introduce mans to mans.

At the end of the day I'm an outsider anyway so I'm not all that bothered personally. Just seems like the Oxford parties are in a bit of a competitive situation, rather than having a friendly degree of respect for one another!

well brillo has and will always get local guys to do warm up sets... alicia, baron, poison, jossy et all.. it's just that most people from oxford don't play the sort of stuff he is looking for... i'm sure if a demo came along akin to the source ethos then that demo would grant the dj a warm up slot.. i'm very certain about that..

that is very true... i put it down to ignorance mate.. i've said time and time again that if we all work with each other we have the fundementals to be bigger than the bristol scene..
