Apologies for the delay in getting back to everyone, my broadband has gone up the chute as I am moving house again next month..
As it stands, it is postponed until early next year due to the following:
1 - Frictions agent has changed and nobody informed me, his new agent knows nothing about the booking..
2 - My other investor has pulled out of funding it as he doesnt think it would be worthwhile in the run up to christmas
3 - I also have a child on the way and need to think about that
4 - I also want experience of running a night before I put something on a large scale, so I am concentrating on running In Motion and Circles with Reaction.
Apologies to all those involved. :(

Town Hall -> Rugby Club -> No night at all. What a disgraceful chain of events. Surely if you are booking people and putting names on flyers you are going to make damn sure the night goes ahead - it's not exactly good for the reputation of artists to be involved in such a sham now is it!! Next you'll be telling us you didn't have enough time to organise this!! (for those that don't know this has been "organised" for over 4 months now):piss:

It was all booked and confirmed,
do you really think I would waste ££ on fliers and deposits for venues etc?
Im not made of money, and I wont be getting any of it back either...

Pretty harsh words. Sometimes things are put out of a promoters hands. Even if it is solely his decision not to do the event as you can see he has reasons not to. Some people are too quick to criticise.

Tanz did ask me to post something up here a week ago, but I have not been near a pc....
ITs difficult putting events on to start with, without the headaches Olly has had, he wants to get involved and do things for the scene, and he is now helping out with In Motion and a few other projects....
sO big up to him

lol at eveyone shifting together in the same direction as usual. Tanz had my number, and im sure he had most other people's numbers that were involved as well - he must have had a suspicion this would fall through for a while now - would have been nice to know as I had already called off a couple of alternative plans that weekend to allow for this. Also, why post the flyer all over not only this forum but DNBA as well, when it is clear that the night was far from confirmed? Obviously this can be put down to inexperience in promoting and a coincidential chain of events as well, but imo if your going to put on a night of this scale you need to be more organised.

lol ' you....
The event was going ahead, but friction changed agency, the date wasnt transfered into his new diary......
SO put the event on without him... get a grip

I think Ryan's justified in being a little pissed over this esp as he lives in Bournemouth now and had based his plans around this night.
When did you find out that it wasn't goin ahead?

settle down
If the night had been organised properly a replacement could have been sorted well in time - happens all the time at dnb nights. It is also clear that this was not the only factor responsible for the night being cancelled - I recall Tanz announcing his impending fatherhood on the forum at least a couple of months ago. Anyway im sure under your expert supervision he'll become a top promoter in no time!

He found out about the agency 4 weeks ago.... its quite hard to get a quality replacement at such short notice, when the agency didnt carry the booking over....
It was better to cancel, but yes he should have phoned you.
I hope that my 8 years of promoting will give him some experience on how to deal with people
