I think they are an absolutely essential part to promoting a night.

Also gives you the opportunity to show off what you've got coming up and basically get the public informed easily.

Better than posters at getting a night noticed IMO, coz you can keep it and remember details ie date and cost.

But then any promotion is essential for a night to work, be it internet promotion, emails, posters, word of mouth, fliers etc

definitely.

If I pick up a flyer for myself, then i'll pick one up for mark, and a couple for my mates.

The flyer is often the first thing a punter can judge a night by.

Therefore a good flyer says alot about the night.

I personally think they are the most integral part of promoting a night.

Samas has a knack for doing flyers and I personally think every night should use him.

The fact that he almost doesn't have a style as such is testament to his ability to come up with innovative designs.

Importantly he understands the importance of the flyer having to promote the night aswell as looking good.

Feedback much appreciated.

The flyer is such an important part of a night.

If you make sure you put X amount of effort into getting something that looks 110% and is very presentable, people dishing them out will be proud to be part of the night and also first impressions from people receiving them will be excellent.

At DnB nights you tend to have at least 2/3 people handing out flyers, especially around October/November tie so you want yours to stand out most over all really to make sure you grab that person to get down to your event.

People after seeing it a few times will be familiar so when they do see a poster up they’ll think back to the flyer.

Also you have people who come out of a club drunk, pick up flyers and find them the next day, again a sale once they have even looked at it as they know about it imo.

ALSO the big one here, after all this, surely if you didn’t have flyers for a night would it not surely decrease the numbers regardless of what line up you had? In my opinion even if you had a huge line up, if you still have space in the building on the night after not putting out flyers, that extra £200 or something put into it would guarantee you those extra space to ram out the club & make the atmosphere the best it could be.

My bit over….lol

Well you're right Mike...

Thats why they are now just a bunch of names rather than a decent poster for ya bedroom wall... With a few exceptions...

You know me - 1992-1995 flyers are my favourites... And what actually introduced my to this scene as a kid was the flyers, not the tapes.

Dunno bout anyone else here... They used to grab you're attention with the colour and graphics rather than some [un]famous producer like... :D

Sorry Merge rant attack...

I HATE flyers. They create unnecessary litter on the streets.
