AMAZING CONTRAPTION

Watch this implausible Rube Goldberg device start

a Honda (yes, a Honda) by using auto parts, not

dominoes. It's actually a UK Honda TV commercial,

and they *claim* it's one continuous shot, albeit

the 592nd take...

it is pretty cool, just one thing though. how do those 3 tyres roll up that little slope?

call me a skeptic...but im thinking computer generated. :-/

good advert though :D

i love that advert, but i hadnt seen a the full lenght version yet!

boh! im not too sure how to explain the uphill rolling tyres either. cos if you think about it, the part of the tyre which touches the other tyre is going down, towards the ground. which would cause the next tyre to roll backwards not forwards...

am i explaining myself right here? do you know what i mean?

Its REAL!!

i emailed mark the thing he posted. it was in a metro newspaper (london thingy!)

nearly 600takes to get right.

Anyway, as for uphill rollin tyres, all it takes is a mathematician/science blokey to work out required force to push it uphill!

they've gotta be more clever than us lol ;)

Frost thats exactly what I was thinking, but I think Misdemeanor's right...they are cleverer than us

it would suck if they did the mechanics completely right, and then the cameraman f*cked up the shot! *sigh* Take six hundred and one....

its well clever :)

do you get what i was on about tho?

the part of the tyre thats gonna touch the next part would be miving downwards, and in (my) theory it 'should' make the other tyre spin backwards...

yeah I kno what you mean i think. it would kinda "pull" the other tyre backwards . i did think that whole part was dodgy to be honest...thats why I thought it was computer-generated.

hmmmm....GSCE physics....nope, forgot the lot! d'oh!

take another lok at the tyre thing quickly...

look very closely at the second/third one AFTER it hits the next one...

it rolls backwards, towards the ground due to gravity... BUT. it then STOPS and rolls back UPHILL!!!

WTF!?

okay the other explanation for this would be some kind of weight inside the tyre controlled err remotely! to make it move direction they want.

Then they would still be able to say "its real" cos by that they could mean its not CGI!

does that make sense?!

well thinking about it it could be technically possible if thre were stratigically placed weights on the sifdes and well i cant explain proberbly but i have the tholught prosses in my head which makes it possible, but i expect they did cgi whatever it anyway as although its possible, its not going to happen
